32 degrees and sunny in Johannesburg today. Proteas need to run through these buggers early.

We have no enforcer bowler. Dale Steyn or Anrich Nortje have that ability to hurt batsmen and make them hop.

3 quick wickets from Rabada giving a small bit of hope.

Markram's not mucking around. The pitch has generally played well for an hour after the roller so I guess they're looking to exploit that window,

I'd actually prefer to see Markram batting at 4. As Nipper pointed out earlier in the thread he's developed an LBW weakness. I had a look at his career dismissals thus far and it seems to be a recent phenomenon. He needs to figure that out.

118/2 . Still a long way to go. Elgar has been solid.

Good Effort so far.
40 overs with the old ball and heavy roller in the morning. Need to get with 40 before the new ball arrives or knock it off before (@3 runs /overs which is the rate score at today)

Watching the replays, I didn't realise how much needle there is between these two teams.
Bumrah hits Elgar in the grill and goes all the way down the pitch to tell him he hopes it hurt. Pant and v.d.Dussen also exchanging pleasantries.
We are almost halfway there with only 2 wickets down, dare one hope?

I thought it was great to see, just what the match needed. It's been a while since I've watched test cricket, but I felt the Proteas were just going through the motions. I liked Jansen's aggression when he was bowling, must be quite intimidating given his height.Rinkals wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 5:27 pm Watching the replays, I didn't realise how much needle there is between these two teams.

Iol
I like.Following the delivery, Bumrah mouthed off to Jansen who turned around and approached the batsmen.
The pair met in the middle of the pitch mouthing off at each other before umpire Marais Erasmus quickly moved between them to diffuse the situation.
It looked suspiciously like Bumrah was making monkey motions to Rabada after he hit that six.assfly wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 5:34 pmI thought it was great to see, just what the match needed. Did anyone else see that, or am I being a little too precious?

Not looking good for England.
