I love how they are so calm...

Ahem, Merseyside coast, you plum.C69 wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 3:24 pm Wind picking up here on the Lancs coast.
Everything in the garden now gale proofed, I suspect a few wheely bins are going to be rolling down the road soon.
A few roof reapirs here still not finished with repairs after the last storm. Good time to be a roofer I suppose
Couldn't catch them mind

Pray for my roof. I’m kicking off getting quotes to have it replaced. It’s well overdue for it and I’m a little worried that it’ll give up the ghost if it gets too bad.
Best of luck. We have a yellow warning for snow. I don't know when the powers that be decided we need to be warned about a couple of inches of snow, but there you go.ScarfaceClaw wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 6:35 pmPray for my roof. My kids (and me to be honest) getting more and more upset as the forecast slowly changes from snow to sleet to rainBlackmac wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 6:40 pmBest of luck. It’s all the hot air produced by Sefton and C69, which acts as a natural barrier to heavy winds.GogLais wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 7:40 pm I’m still intrigued. Still a huge difference in predicted max wind speed tomorrow (80 v 43) between us and Liverpool, four or five miles away.
I think the warning is less about the volume of snow, & more about it being driven by a >80mph wind, & reducing viability to zero. That was emphasis was in the Irish warningsBlackmac wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 6:40 pmBest of luck. We have a yellow warning for snow. Not here. Looks like it's going to blow itself out by the time it gets to us.fishfoodie wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 9:37 pmI think the warning is less about the volume of snow, & more about it being driven by a >80mph wind, & reducing viability to zero. The main event is only starting now here in Galway, so we'll have to see how fast it moves, & how hard it blows.Blackmac wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 11:27 pmNot here. Dublin is near the storm pressure centre and the strongest winds are all to the south of it. Bit lively at PorthcawlUncle fester wrote: Fri Feb 18, 2022 7:42 am Barely a puff of wind in Dublin. Did I sleep through it?
