Bet you're okay with the supreme court striking down NY gun laws though?

The goal is the smallest of government and the absolute freedom of the individual.

Unless your are a woman, of course.

Women aren't worthy of the same rights.

Women have a higher degree of participation In USA politics than men. Should think they can make their votes count. .

They do indeed, I've just read a tweet that stated that three of the judges on the Supreme Court were appointed by the President that tried to overthrow the government. A fourth is married to a woman who actively planned the overthrow.

Usurping powers should be mandatory, written into the constitutions, not left to the rabble.

Just as I thought, you don't know.

It means to take a position of power illegally, usually by force.

You can't write into law the illegal overthrowing of the legislators who uphold the law.

That makes as much sense as your other posts.

Yep, it's just so fucked up. Sadly predictable, given how much influence fundy religion has in a supposedly secular society.

The statement these cave-dwelling, at least in their attitudes, came out with stated that there is nothing in the constitution that supported abortion.

There is nothing in the Bible that mentions it either, but that doesn't stop these knuckle-draggers.

The first one can be refuted by the fact that babies born in the US are abandoned to the survival of the richest.

The second one can be refuted by the numbers of women who die after back street abortions.

I've said this before, and it's not my idea, but to anyone who is in favour of what has just happened, why not just have universal vasectomies of all eleven year old boys?

Have the operation reversed when the boy is in a position emotionally and financially to be part of bringing up a family.
That would solve almost all need for abortion.

If men could get pregnant, there'd be a govt-funded abortion clinic on every street corner in America.

It's probably a better last resort than killing unborn babies. Better still, how about people learn about ovulation/menstrual cycles and exercise some self control and responsibility. Contraception is available for those unwilling or unable to do so.

Ah, well, you're a bit behind

It took a whole 45 minutes but Clarence Thomas filed a concurring opinion to Dobbs, calling for the court to overturn the right to contraception, oh and same-sex marriage and privacy in the bedroom too.

These people are trying to get the state to mandate what you are allowed to do in your own bedroom, and don't come back with doing drugs or violence, I'm talking about the prospect of consensual sex between adults being illegal soon.

No one thought Roe v Wade would be overturned, it's only a matter of time for the Fundamentalists , they are winning right now.

As for contraception being available (so far) there are still stocks of Plan B on Amazon, I wonder how long the state will take to make it illegal for that company to sell this?

Not sure exercising self control and using contraception would be high on the list of a rapist's priorities, though.

Because it's the bleeding obvious example where the perpetrator is probably not looking at ovulation cycles or looking at the moon.

Should abortion be available for rape cases?

I don't know. I watched a talk by a young woman who was the result of her mother being raped. I think she was grateful to be alive.

Are you saying that because there are cases of pregnancy through rape that any woman should be able to have an abortion whenever she wants to?

No. But I'm not a woman so it's not my call to make. And I'm not religious so don't have to deal with all that baggage, either.

Do you believe in a woman's right to decide what to do with her own body?

Yes, but not an unborn child's body. That has nothing to do with religion, just basic morality.

For me, I support the woman's absolute right to chose to terminate any pregnancy at any point, it is her body, her choice, I support the right of the individual in this.

It's not just her body though is it, it's the unborn child's and only one of them is being intentionally killed. Plus it seems like you partly justify your position on abortion by your contempt for other irrelevant issues.

It is her body.

The mass of genes she carries isn't a viable human until around 24 weeks

That is six months.

However, it does beg the question(s),

Why do you demand control over a woman?

Why do you presume that what she does is up to you?

They are only silly if you think the woman's worth is less than yours

The thing is there is no equivalent, bar mandatory sterilisation or similar, for men. Perhaps that is why men can't see this, but it does make you look stupid, trying to tell women what they can and can't do.

You pretend it's about the unborn child, but it's not an unborn child until at least six months, you ignore the science

It's all about misogynistic control.
