They'll have to cut that 41 players for the next 3 games tour.

The Springboks returned home on Sunday where they will have a few days off to rest and recuperate after the opening leg of the competition, with Springbok coach Jacques Nienaber’s touring squad set to depart for Australia on Thursday.
So players that didn't even play or were immediately injured are cut, but Dweba who did play remains a starting player I guess?OomStruisbaai wrote: Sat Aug 13, 2022 6:39 pm Die game is oor, ons het verloor!
Well I expect this. Losses is good because it grounded you.
To lose against the All Blacks isn't that bad even on Ellispark.
It's obvious that we need to cut out old wood like Elton Jantjies and Jesse Kriel. Duanne Vermeulen and Frans Steyn probably next. We need to bring young blood through.
Our box kick shite plan need to be cut. Tonight the All Blacks waited for this.
The Wallabies is our next test. Will be nice to knock them over.
Oom, you've lost it.

Ox, Dweba can be cut, tried and failed, ditto Hendricks, just like Coetzee. New ones must be tried.
And.......
Roos cut as tour group finalized.
Poor lad. It's his Sharks background and development
Dweba and Moerat continue earning a bok salary to alleviate the pressure on the Stormers wage bill and get to travel.

Pains me to say, but Duane is past it. Wiese and Roos should be our 8s. I would have liked to see Roos given another chance at 8 in our 1st choice XV.Sards wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 1:31 pm And.......

Ja. I would have preferred Roos.
I see Herschel is included in the squad with Reinach included. I don't get it. 4 scrumhalves. They never get injured. Rather cut the underperforming one and add another wing.
We only have Moodie, Mapimpi, Jesse and Gelant. Jesse is not a wing.
With that squad it's clear they are going to go again with the 6 2 split

Ja. It looks to me that Rassienaber can't handle X factor players. They want Zombies that tow the line.
Oh BTW Fourie has been included as cover for Hooker......

He is still young. He'll get his chance. Thomas Tank has been longer in the squad, he probably done more to piss off JN.

It would be about time now to start squad development. The goal after RWC2019 was to win the Lions series, which was accomplished. And developing a winning habit, which is being missed. Time to move on.

Doesnt matter. When has Jesse last played wing? Or Damien fullback? Or kwagga blindside? Or trevor loosehead? Or Duane at all?assfly wrote: Tue Aug 16, 2022 5:39 am Two hookers and four scrumhalves![]()
I get Fourie as a potential replacement, but hasn't he been playing in the loose trio for the last few years?

Rasnaber still have to make space for Goosen, Snyman, and one or two others, before RWC 2023 ....

AJ have a nice summary of our loose forwards. Fourie by far our best 6 flanker all season. Kolisi is a luxury in the Bok team.
Sure, we decimated the all blacks with them just last week.boere wors wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 9:01 pmYou think we will win anything with the same 23 that played the RWC final, Ox for beast and kwagga for Louw?

The believers will say we just need to play Francois Steyn and Willie le Roux more. And box kick more. If they had their way they'd resurrect some 90's "yster" like Adrian Richter and we'll be unbeatable.assfly wrote: Sat Aug 27, 2022 1:18 pm So JN is now at a 46% win ratio.

Agree with this from Planet Rugby, the whole Bok game plan is built on getting a lead and then suffocating the opposition. That doesn't work if you ship 10 points in the first 10 mins of every match. Also it is obvious to anybody that the Boks are, for whatever reason, not picking their best XV or XXIII
https://www.planetrugby.com/rugby-champ ... -on-track/
"For the Springboks, the message is simple. Pick your best players to start and make sure you have the firepower to score tries. The issues are so obvious that it’s unfathomable why the management cannot see what the solutions are. South Africa are in a precarious place; another loss in a week’s time and make no mistake, the pressure with be on Jacques Nienaber to a level he’s rarely experienced."
I also agree with this Keohane article

They need to ship out some of the dead wood and give youth a chance.

I think we will drop lower. We barely beat Wales at home so winning north is not certain.assfly wrote: Sat Aug 27, 2022 1:18 pm So JN is now at a 46% win ratio.

I don't fancy our chances against Argentina and still a game against Australia.
We are in the poo.
If we lose 2 of our next 3 Rassnabber must go immediately to give us a chance next year

Today's performance was much better then last week. RasNaber need to give more debutants gametime. PSdT and Faf is past it. Dweba had to go.
