Never underestimate Wasps' capacity to collapse.

I knew Crossdale was quick, but not that fast.

Wasps and complete collapse, name a more iconic duo.

Glaws got away with absolute murder on their line in those last couple of minutes.

Can't play like spackers for 35 minutes and expect to win, though. Little sign that we've done anything in the off season to arrest our tendency to fall apart.

As soon as they stopped playing that useless fucking kicking game and ran it more, they looked a good side.

We wanted them to show a bit more fire in bellies this season, looks like we might need to calibrate it.

Saints 10-0 up at half time, Irish end the half with three men in the bin. Scrappy game, not too much of the free-flowing rugby you'd expect from these two sides.

Wasps looking the better team than Bristol, but undermining good work with handling errors and getting done in the scrum.

Edit - and as I type that antoher dominant Bristol scrum sets up a try for them.

Saints are friggin' maddening sometimes, they couldn't score when they were three men up but score two quick tries when it goes back to 15 v 15.

What a great game so far, a million miles better than the dross served up last week by Leicester and Exeter

It'll take Leicester 3 seasons to chalk up as many offloads as Saracens have done in 30 minutes.

Saracens are the new entertainers. Let's hope it's good enough to win!

If Wasps can reduce their error rate by even a quarter, we'd be fine. So much good work that goes undermined.

Much better second half, Saints end up winning 38-22.

BillyV outstanding.
Tizzard had a stinker.

Saracens were like the Harlem Globetrotters of rugby, ruck speed was off the charts. They butchered two more tries and gave at least one arguably two tries to Quins. First game as well.

Ominous. Good signs for Sarries fans though.

Wasps manage to go down at home without even a losing BP.

19 handling errors. Bristol didn't have to do much other than take the couple of chances they were given because for all that we did right ball in hand we could be relied upon to drop it or otherwise fuck up anything promising.

Tom Willis was immense, didn't deserve to be on the losing side.

Bath lost, at home, by 17 points, to 14 men.

I'll leave it there until I see the highlights.

Spirited performance from Worcester today, gave Exeter some real problems at times. Impressive support from the crowd which I'm sure will mean a lot to the players.

It's pretty long, but always enjoy listen to Flatman talk about the game and specifically the state of the English game here. Predictably he talks a lot more sense than Jim. Touches on sustainability, structure, player welfare, salary cap, player access, the women's game etc.

Yep, I'm still miffed by the try the TMO called as not a knock on from the back of the maul.

Yeah, fairly enjoyable match in the end.

You can tell a lot of these lads don't get a huge amount of gametime. It was a bit of a cramp off in the second half with players dropping like flies.

The lads cramping up made me realise how much we take the conditioning of Prem players as a given.

They may not get much Premiership game time. But I'm sure I heard the commentators mention that at least half a dozen of the players had actually played for their loan club in the Championship at the weekend.

Yeah, a couple of the Quins boys played 80+80.

Seemed a useful game to be a part of. Would be nice if our scrum half was quicker than me.

He was glacial. Decent box kick on him, but outside of that he'd seem an odd fit for Quins.

Yeah, some of the Quins lads were at LS.

The LI guys (with the exception of Morisi) wont have played since a pre season A game against Bath. They'll be getting this bloc of Prem Cup games out of the way before heading off on loan (mainly academy) or back to holding tackle bags for the squad players.

Was that the Stringer lookalike?

He came on against Saracens. Don't think he's got it.

His box kicking was quite variable. Ironically one of his worst kicks led to the 'where did that come from?' try from Cleaves.

Remember one particularly poor one, but most the others were broadly contestable and the LI players were under pressure when taking.

I'm trying to be kind really though. He wasn't up to much. Neither was O'Sullivan for LI though to be fair, who's generally been pretty underwhelming for us.

Yeah, he's ex-Munster so you'd think he could at least kick well, but no joy. Just an absolute momentum killer. Especially with Edwards at 10 who is a sevens player at heart so isn't so hot on the back foot. Irish defence was brilliant to be fair but they got a lot of belief out of being able to line us up every time.

Irish have a ginger scrumhalf with an absolute bullet pass who I like very much and it turns out he's ex Quins academy, so that's fun.

Hyde's injury is a blow, he's one of the guys I thought would break through this season. Good to see some of the hyped youngsters get some game time, I do enjoy watching Cleaves / Smith / Oresanya / Hyde et al
