No crying. I just found it an odd strategy to guess using a double letter word on the second attempt. So, in answer to your question, yes, I wouldn't score any better than 3 attempts for any words that have a repeat letter!
It’s not odd. Because getting a two is sooooo much sweeter than a three. So sometimes young man, you just need to just roll the dice.
