I admire you optimism.
“It was a pet, not an animal. It had a name, you don't eat things with names, this is horrific!”

I'm already eyeing up your women folk and filling my bag with the baking innocently left our on window sills by the trusting folk of this village...

Thanks. I mentioned on another thread that I would have been here sooner but for technical difficulties (login issues). Have lurked occasionally.
But I have a new phone and now all sorts of things that weren't working suddenly are (my office authentication app for example), although it could all be coincidence.

I had to get some sun somewhere. Visit sunny Northland they said. Do it in Feb when the weather will be lovely they said. So we left cold miserable Christchurch (were it was 30°C and sunny) to visit the winterless north. Where I'm wearing a Jersey...Kiwias wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 2:57 amGood to see you have left the dark side and joined us in the sun.Fat Old Git wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 9:03 pm I'm already eyeing up your women folk and filling my bag with the baking innocently left our on window sills by the trusting folk of this village...
The sprog and I had planned to be up that way right now, but after hearing early forecasts about the cyclone we decided to delay it by a week. Considering the likely state of the roads after this, we may have to give it a miss entirely.Fat Old Git wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 3:48 amI had to get some sun somewhere. We're supposed to be moving on to Mangonui on Tuesday. Hoping the road will be open. Supposed to dying down here by then.Gumboot wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 4:49 amThe sprog and I had planned to be up that way right now, but after hearing early forecasts about the cyclone we decided to delay it by a week. Watching the reports from the Coromandel and it looks worse there already then what we've had here so far.
