Pandemic coming from the greek pan "all" and "demos" people.

Heard a professor on the radio in Sweden mention it. Its interesting how phrases enter the lexicon erroneously. that's all.

It's a free forum, you can comment wherever you like. But the reality is we aren't talking about a rugby match or which way you wipe your arse hole. We are talking about people dying and economies being utterly destroyed. Hence my comment about posters generally sticking to their own national covid threads. It's helped avoid misunderstanding and reduce trolling. Your comments on this thread lack any local context, and might annoy some Aussie posters as a result, especially Victorian based posters who've been in lockdown for 6 months. They are living under a curfew ffs, and you're here arguing that people should be able to protest.
Australia doesn't have a monopoly on jobs loss, death or covid. We are all in this together we have been told. We have all been on lockdown and are all fed up.

Aussie posters can be annoyed if they want .nothing happens. Causing offence hasn't tempered your posting style if memory serves....

So as I guessed, you're all about the trolling. You're a scummy multi-login who uses conspiracy theorist links and websites to troll people about Covid 19 on a rugby forum. Onto ignore you go. Life is too short to spend it chatting with cyber-scrum

Fair enough I cant force you to engage.

Im disappointed we have reached this impasse but not surprised I suppose. Its very hard to go against the prevailing view without being branded something or other.
An hour long two and fro transpires and the issue we were supposed to be discussing doesn't get discussed at all.

Dialogue in 2020 ladies and gents. Obfuscation, Ad-hominems with most of the other logical fallacies not far behind.

Why have covid discussed at all if its a rugby forum? There are two covid threads but we are only allowed post in them if the posts are inline with the majority consensus? Once I drink the koolaid like?

Perhaps you should concern yourself with the spike in cases in Europe, Steve, rather than discuss issues in Victoria, where case numbers are being steadily driven towards zero.

76 cases and 11 deaths today in Victoria. While it's always a concern when numbers go up, Wednesday is known for being a bit of a spike day as people wait until after the weekend to be tested.

10 x fewer new cases than where you were just over a month ago. Keep up the great work Victorians. We're all backing you!

Hi Jimmy,

The numbers don't concern me anywhere in the world Europe included. I think it has been a historical over reaction of biblical proportions. 28 people committed suicide back home this month as opposed to zero covid deaths. I think we have developed covid tunnel vision worldwide but I suppose that's a discussion for another thread.

How can a society think it’s acceptable for police to come into your house and arrest you for a Facebook post advocating for a protest . Thin end of the wedge guys..... whether she was chav bogan or landed gentry it shouldn’t matter.

I recall watching plenty of videos of non socially distanced black lives matter protests in Australia too . Why the selective morality ? Either everything protestable is off the table or it isn’t ?
She was doing more than advocating.
Even if she was organising it my point stands.

We have a state of disaster declaration here in Victoria.

Old people in particular are dying at a rate of knots.

Forgive us locals if a moron trying to drum up punters for a public protest does not garner much sympathy when the cops turn up and arrest her.

All over the world Jimmy. Its a disaster everywhere. Old people rolling sevens everywhere from Sweden to Tipperary.

I don't dispute that she was a moron at all. Im not vouching for her or avi "the alleged right wing domestic abuser yemeni" in any way.

All im saying is , is that this is the thin end of the wedge and everyone needs to stay frosty on this stuff. once the public get comfortable with this stuff it can insidiously become the norm. In ireland they are rolling out a health passport. Employment , travel and admission to venues will be contingent on this if it goes ahead. Thats black mirror stuff.
I slag you off online in jest, you say you are going to kill me next time you see me. Should you be arrested for threatening to murder me?
Should Australia be seeking the extradition of the ozzie woman in LA who copy and pasted the same protest organisation post onto her own facebook page in an act of defiance? a crime is a crime right?

As for yemeni he looks like a right twat but he had a permit to be there. When is a permit not a permit.

you mightn't like the above two cunts but eventually they might come for someone who you do like......

As for the other posters calling me scummy and putting me on ignore and you yourself saying " you're one of those". Sure if we all talk like that on here no one will be talking about anything

I openly admit to ridiculing your idea that there should be zero restrictions on any Australian aged under 60, that people between 60-70 years old could choose their level of restrictions and that people aged 70+ be locked away forever until we have vaccine, presumably interacting only with robots and cyborgs who don't carry the virus and who self sterilize after each engagement.

Big anti-lockdown protests planned for Melbourne today. Strangely, the conservative media commentators who savaged the BLM protests back in May are being silent about these protests. It is almost like there is a double standard.
