Why a must win? The loser will most likely become second and play France, who will still go through topping their Pool.

Just buy decent brandy instead, or really buy whisky, or, if you must, whiskey.
Why get pissed quickly. Generally our weather is s lot hotter here. When we drink we are quenching a thirst foremost. So we gooi some coke and ice to cool the drink down. Later some, like myself go neat. But Generally it tastes like cool drink with a bietjie by. So we just go with the flow. Where you are you need to warm your body up. Quickly.
Most Fridays we have friends around. Ice is paramount. Always bags in the freezer. Everything goes with ice. And coke.
Sards have you ever killed a man? Looked him straight in the eye and gunned him down?
No. I cannot do that. In the Angolan war I was an Ops Medic. Went along with the Bats , intelligence etc. To give primary care in the field. I have held many a man that has passed on. The Branners and coke with ice after a hard day at the cassavac points was a refreshing relief.

I am not sure about that. The All Blacks are bliksems. They will be to happy to get us in the quarters.

So add tonic to your gin or vodka along with ice. Or if it's hot enough add ice to brandy or whisky. Just don't add sweet gunky crap
I have my favorite brandy sipping glasses which I can barely fit 2 blocks of ice. But thats for my 10 year old KWV. A couple of sips and its gone.
My 3 year old KWV I enjoy with coke and ice. Fill it into my skull mug and thats my kuier dop. At least I can spend some time enjoying it before I need a refill. Also the mugs insulated so the ice lasts longer. The measure is 2 Tots to start. After that its no measure. Just Gooi.

Hence a must lose. To avoid them. They most likely will stay 2nd in their group. That is the joke.

Again, what makes you so certain we'll go through anyways? I've tried to explain it to you before. We have to win this match to put it beyond doubt.

Ireland: Played 2 Won 2 10 points with +117
SA: Played 2 Won 2 9 points with +91
Scotland: Played 1 Lost 1 0 points with -15

We only have Tonga to play after this match. My bet is it's going to be tighter than Romania.
Ireland has Scotland.
Scotland still has Tonga, Romania and then Ireland.

Ireland beats us and it leaves Scotland with a chance. Hard to say who wins between them when a desperate Scotland is given a last bit of hope. If Scotland beats them, we're all on played 4 won 3 lost 1. Even Stevens and what then? All of a sudden, it's about points. My bet is Scotland's match against Romania will be another blowout. Chances are it's a bigger scoreline than ours. You want the Boks to be like Bafana? Hoping Senegal beats Ivory Coast or some such so we can go through?

And besides that, mathematics. I don't need your explanations, do your math properly regarding bonus points, and you will be much more relaxed. Just like you apparently were before the Scotland game.

and/or 4 tries.

The 3 more tries bonus point rule is much better.

The way I understand it. Rassie has planned this down to a T. If he was given the choice of a quarter between the ABs or France and he could choose by manipulating results, I am sure he would.
Mind. He has been acting a bit arrogant lately. Maybe his personality wants him to smash whoever is put in front of him.

All I know is that this weekends 7-1 split is being done with a completely new backline from the backline that took the ABs apart. This backline is set to defend. Not attack. The Attack is coming through the forwards.

You Kiwis like to throw this line out. We know the Irish way to well, vok we play in the same URC competition. We cant be confident, no vokken way. The Irish are nr 1 now for a long time and we will need to be at our best to beat them.

You need all the figures to do the math. Ireland has 2 BP, we have 1 and Scotland 0. We get a losing BP here we have 2. Do you think Scotland can't pick up 2 against Tonga and Romania? A very large part of winning in rugby is phycological. We lose against the Irish and the Scots knows exactly what they'll need to do in the next three matches. Ireland win or lose will be through and can focus on the 1/4 finals. You have a relaxed Ireland against a desperate Scotland.

Will you bet your house and everything you own on it? I won't, we win this, and we don't need to stress about what others will do. We don't win and we have to put Tonga to the sword and hope the Scots don't do the same and thrash an already demoralized no hope Romania.

Now if you're telling me your confident we'll win this, like I did with the Scots, I'm with you but this is not a nothing match, it's the biggest match of the group games for us and all is still on the line.

This is good on Pollard's defence compared to Libbok's:
https://analystgus.substack.com/p/the-i ... springboks

Libbok offering a lot more speed to disrupt opponents on defence and cover tackle. Weaker than Pollard defending in the line. Reckon Ireland are going to attack the inside of Libbok, they're good at stacking runners and attacking close in using inside passes.

Boks are now about 3 or 4 point favourites. The consensus is a close match. To me it looks more likely that one side imposes their game plan or the other does and wins well, Ireland and the Boks haven't played enough to call which side with confidence (obviously I'm backing the Boks).

RasNaber's secret plan to turn Snyman into a scrumhalf. Snyman will be selected at 9 and physically carry Faf around to perform the plays.

The RWC site has the kick-off time as 8am here in New Zealand...but we'll change to daylight saving time at 2am. So, does anyone know if the listed kick-off time takes that into account? Getting up early on a Sunday is already against my religion, so I really don't want to get up even earlier than I need to, if I can avoid it.

Also fwiw I don't think anyone is yelling at anyone to wear a suit, not really any day of the week anymore, and certainly not on a Saturday. These days I've seen people turn up to weddings dressed in casual, so no need to be perturbed by the local youth not wearing suits on the weekend

Whereas drinking coke remains puerile. I would claim it's also markedly unhealthy, but seeing as I'd happily drink a bottle of whisky sans coke the health argument would be on sketchy grounds

Exactly, no one is going to tell English hooligans to dress smarter. Anyone aware would avoid a group of men wearing those brands on match day, and as you say being slovenly is culturally acceptable and normal to the English. The cultural context matters.

I actually Googled that. We have a Buffelsfontein game farm up the road a bit. Not so.
Based in Pretoria. A guy that used to make beard oil started a distillery.
Last night it was gin cocktails as it was quite warm. Whilst digging around in my bar for combinations I found a KWV 10 year old still in the box. Probably a couple of years old.
I am not phased about collecting drinks. It's like my knives. You don't have them to keep in a box to retain the value. I use them. Sharpen them and cut with them. Some collectors would be horrified. Same with alcohol. Invariably I got it as a gift at some point but there's no emotional attachment.
So if you are digging in there and find something special in a box I open it.
Anyway. I am going to enjoy that 10 year old this afternoon. On ice.
After the Springboks victory
Might even get a cigar. Just to be correct for Rhubarb

Wat? I hardly ever drink coca cola myself but this is the first time I've seen anyone claim drinking it is "peurile". Maybe it's an English thing? On the other hand, my dad thinks eating crisps is puerile which I can kinda see, but they're very popular even amongst adults in the UK.

It's such a bizarre thing to be a snob about thought. In my experience countries with hot climates, Islamic countries and places with spicy cuisines enjoy sweet drinks. Some of sweetest drinks I've had have been given to me by Indians, Pakistanis and Chinese . Often as an antidote to spicy dishes. In Sudan the national drink is tea, with enough sugar added to saturate it and form a layer on the bottom of the glass. Anyway, a brandy and coke is going to have less than half the amount of sugar of a glass of orange juice.
