This French team has no real weakness to target. You need to be the complete deal or you will get punished.

If we beat France, it will be massive. They kick a lot. The challenge will be the forwards.

It's so similar to peak NZ. Play nothing in your half unless it's really on. Kick deep and pressurise. Ball carrier nearly always has a support option either side of him. Nothing complicated but executed very well.

One thing this tournament has shown is that a weak defence can make any side look really good, and that gives a distorted view of teams for many people. A lot of people struggle to even understand a strong defence (tight TV shots don't help), few rate teams on defence. Ireland, Scotland, Boks all played eachother, in those matches which side conceded the most tries and which the least, and who qualified?

When looking at France, basically only count the All Blacks match. But they conceded against Uruguay and Italy too. France definitely have weaknesses. They used to fall off at the end of matches, but that seems to have been fixed. Another old weakness appeared during the Italy match, weak defence on the ruck pillars and around the edges, channel one defence also giving up ground, Italian carriers made a lot of ground in that space, scored through that and should've got another that way.

Last time the Boks played them Pieter-Steph was red carded 10 minutes in, Dupont was red carded 50 minutes in, then Fourie was yellow carded on the 70th minute. It was a bit of a non-match because of the cards. Boks lost by 4 points. Boks have already shown with 14 men for 60 minutes and 13 men for 10 minutes, they can restrict France to 2 tries. Ireland showed in the 6N they can restrict France to 1 try. On the other side of the equation France are conceding points in this tournament.

Strategy seems obvious to me. Start Duane at eightman, start Pollard at 10, get both of them carrying close in, along with De Allende and Pieter-Steph, add some Faf breaks from the base. Some variations that get Kolbe and Willemse running from deep in those close in channels, probably from mauls and scrums rather than rucks. If Dupont plays, test him and make him tackle a lot. Do not kick onto their outside backs who are dangerous. Put out the maximum defence possible and do not get carded.

Boks winning looks completely possible.

Got to support the boys.....this could be our last game ......

Ireland beating Scotland badly...places them on top of the current pile,

Lets hope the boys selected are on form on the day and no-one voks up with a card......so far we have been good with these , lets hope for no exception.

GO BOKKE

With Scotland certain they were going to qualify for the 1/4 finals 3 months ago, will those Sweaties in the crowd support France or SA?

It's a risk. If he damages it further don't blame us. It's a contact sport.
And don't expect us to play touch rugby with him.
And I would expect our guys to target him.

He's been given the go ahead to play by the surgeon. I'm not convinced he should play though.

Meantime I see SA have pulled a fast one with Mapimpi "injured" to be replaced by Am

And he is face to face with quite few of our strongest guys, with Rassie's "Fcuk them up in front" still ringing in their ears...

Dupont is yet to be selected. Although I suspect you are right, the he will be. I'm guessing Mapimpi had no chance to recover before the final.

As an aside, why wasn't Am (one of my favourite players and surely the coolest in rugby) selected at outset?

And so much for WR's initiative to cut this sht*t out. I'd wager this has been the worst RWC ever for head injuries.

It's kinda weird. You heard nothing about Am during this time and suddenly he is ready.
