Superb from Hendy. That’s the game

Curwin Bosch can't do that.
Imagine. Passing the ball. Something someone decided not to do with De Wet outside him. Therefore the Stormers loss. Can't be selfish
Disappointing the Cheetahs and Lions dropped out of the klein koppie in close-ish matches. Sharks would have to fall apart to not meet Edinburgh in the quarters now, they're sharp ball in hand. It's turned into a big comp for the Sharks given how the URC went.

Stormers the only home team to not get the W in the round.
Sharks and Bulls to fly the South African flag next weekend.fishfoodie wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 3:40 pm Stormers the only home team to not get the W in the round.
Stormers, Lions and Cheetahs out. Bulls have a tough one against the Saints on the road. Sharks against Edinburgh at home.

Good thing for the Stormers. A lot of injuries , Fourie probably out for the season.fishfoodie wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 3:40 pm Stormers the only home team to not get the W in the round.
Jake White also complaining about the travel arrangements.
Nice result for the $harks. Against a rather piss-poor team, but hey-ho. I wonder what sort of a team Edinburgh are going to send out, considering they barely just unpacked their bags. Given they are only 1 point away from automatic qualification in the URC, I wouldn't be surprised if they send the kids.
I don't think anybody played badly. But great to see Masuku take the ball up like he does. It doesn't always come off, but it such a change from what we have become used to seeing Bosch do.
Pity about the crowd, but playing on a Sunday afternoon is just weird.

Ja, win or lose, our ICC and URC campaigns were both over after the second half of that match.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 8:41 pmGood thing for the Stormers. Not sure yet what the extent of everybody's injuries are but losing Fourie, BJD, Diyamani, Moerat and Zas in one match is a massive blow. Willemse has also gone down for ankle 2 weeks in a row now.
We just don't currently have the depth in our contracted squad to absorb losses like that. Not on the shoestring budget we've been running for the last 2-3 years. Dobbo is going to have to throw some young forwards into the deep end and hope they swim. At least Xaba and Pokomela have been developing nicely, so they will get some more chances, but I wonder who they will bring in for Moerat if be needs a couple of weeks rest?

BJD is a big loss, hope he is back soon. Xaba is very important. He is ready to step up. Willemse is head and shoulder above anyone else. World class player. We cant afford to lose him but I would like to see SMZ step up. He can be our main kicker.Blake wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 6:21 amJa, win or lose, our ICC and URC campaigns were both over after the second half of that match.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 8:41 pmGood thing for the Stormers. We are so stacked in the backs at the moment that it's going to be tricky to find a spot for Sasha, but I agree, we need him in the mix somewhere. His goal kicking is going to become more and more vital.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 9:36 am Willemse is head and shoulder above anyone else. World class player. Where would you slot him in though?
Manie is locked in at 10.
12 is Dan Dup and Willemse if we want Galant at 15
13 is Similane and Hartzenberg (or Dan Dup if Willemse is at 12)
11 and 14 we have Zas, Loader and Hartzenberg (and Angelo Davids when he gets back)
15 Willemse and Galant
So it's really hard to find a regular starting slot for Sasha unfortunately.

He should be the replacement for Damian Willemse and Libbok with Jurie Mathee. We also have the Prince as backup for 10/12. These players however need to play at some stage. Thought Angelo Davids is back, specially now with Zas out for the season.
Ja, I'm not so worried about our backs. If Manie or Willemse get a long term injury it will be the most disruptive. They are our 2 most valuable backline players.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 10:43 am He should be the replacement for Damian Willemse and Libbok with Jurie Mathee. We are very light on Bok quality fatties. Brannas is on his last legs unfortunately and he was (is!) key to our success. Once he went off La Rochelle killed us at our breakdown and had a lot of phases to get their fatties running over us again and again. At least Xaba is quite strong on the floor, so we'll need him to step up bigtime.
With BJD and possibly Moerat out our already wobbly lineout is fucked. Kitsie also needs to get home as soon as possible. We can't keep playing Oupa Brok for 60-70 mins. After Big Frans and Fouche we are very light on fatties.
Hooker is interesting. Kotze and AHV are streets ahead of Dweba. I hope Dobbo is just waiting on his contract to run out so we can cut him loose. He's been a massive dud and drain on our salary bill.

Surprised there was more then 30,000 on saturday. Derbin and Loftus looked empty.Blake wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 10:53 amJa, I'm not so worried about our backs. This two weeks break is just what the docter ordered.
Will be interesting to see who will win Europe.

Yeah the Bulls crowd was very disappointing but the 1pm kickoffs are not very popular, you basically lose a day of activities with these midday kickoffs, specially if you go to the match from outside of Pretoria, which a lot of people do, including me. But it is also the timeframe where all the schools are playing so, you are going to lose all those supporters in this time period, Affies played at the same time had a bigger crowd than the Bulls on Saturday I believe. So if the Bulls game was at 3pm a lot of those people most likely would have gone to the Bulls game if going by history of the school games and Bulls games that happen on the same days. It is just does not make sense to have games that early in SA when there are a lot of school sports, etc going on. But it is all about the TV money and when the TV people can fit you in unfortunately.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 11:27 amSurprised there was more then 30,000 on saturday. Next weekend will be tough for the Bulls, travelling from Europe to play 1 game in SA just to go back again for the next one, then traveling back to SA the week after for the game against Munster, would have been better just to play Lyon in France in this case. Might be a good time for Munster to play the Bulls at Loftus. Will be interesting to see how White picks the team this week and next.

Yep the big Bulls derby was on Saturday.
