He must be pissed off, he has made so many errors! But as long as he's fit you keep him on the pitch, I reckon.
Really interesting to see how this shakes out, the game has become quite loose and Spain are very dangerous

He's not a good footballer. He's just quick.
I thought it was far from his worst game but yes, he is there for his pace. He had some shockers earlier in the tournament.
Indeed. One thing I do want to see next season is rodri punished with cards for every bit of cynical shitty play he does cause the guy is an absolute piece of shit.inactionman wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 8:56 pm Gah
Can't begrudge Spain the title, they've been tidy all through the tournament, but just feels like we've not thrown the punches we could have done.
To be honest, any team would do the same to kill time, but I have a real pathological dislike of Cucarella and that ridiculous barnet.

Southgate never learned from the previous lucky wins, kept doing the same thing.
Well done Spain.
I wince every time he 'controls' the ball.JM2K6 wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 8:58 pmI thought it was far from his worst game but yes, he is there for his pace. He had some shockers earlier in the tournament.
That is true. I'm deeply cynical about Spanish football losing drugs tests, Barcelona gifts to refs etc.... the whole dark cloud of shit relating to guardiola and man city.inactionman wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 8:59 pmTo be honest, any team would do the same to kill time, but I have a real pathological dislike of Cucarella and that ridiculous barnet.
We should have run at him more, he's simply not a good player - how the feck Chelsea spunked £60M I'll never know.
He also loves putting his foot on the ball whenever we need snappy passing.inactionman wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 9:01 pmI wince every time he 'controls' the ball.JM2K6 wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 8:58 pmI thought it was far from his worst game but yes, he is there for his pace. Walker is a good player who has clearly faded.JM2K6 wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 9:04 pmHe also loves putting his foot on the ball whenever we need snappy passing.inactionman wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 9:01 pmI wince every time he 'controls' the ball.JM2K6 wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 8:58 pm

Cucarella is miliary medium. He's not a good player, although in a good team.Hugo wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 9:02 pm He had a great tournament to be fair - Cucurella that is.
Southgate just doesn't change his starting XI nor take risks with his subs, you can't keep winning when you aren't prepared to switch things up.
Just responding to your 'jibe'inactionman wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 9:06 pmIt's an interesting old thing, people being proud of snide sneering.
We had a good blend with Maguire, Stones and Walker, as Maguire could do the whole skilful bit and Walker could do McGuire's running for him.
Football won. Oh deary me.salanya wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 9:09 pmJust responding to your 'jibe'inactionman wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 9:06 pmIt's an interesting old thing, people being proud of snide sneering.
I'm sorry for your loss.
I'm happy for Spain's win.
Not too worried about that to be honest, Guehi did a great job, and if James and Chilwell can stay fit we have some excellent options on the flanks nowinactionman wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 9:10 pmWe had a good blend with McGuire, Stones and Walker, as McGuire could do the whole skilful bit and Walker could do McGuire's running for him.
Guehi looked to the manor born, good reading, athletic, composed. Still think we missed Maguire as a composed passer.JM2K6 wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 9:12 pmNot too worried about that to be honest, Guehi did a great job, and if James and Chilwell can stay fit we have some excellent options on the flanks nowinactionman wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 9:10 pmWe had a good blend with McGuire, Stones and Walker, as McGuire could do the whole skilful bit and Walker could do McGuire's running for him.
We go back to the obvious not Trent option being the unavailable White at rightback. Stones is a very skillful player. Southgate's loyalty is commendable but kane hasn't been fit all tournament.inactionman wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 9:10 pmWe had a good blend with Maguire, Stones and Walker, as Maguire could do the whole skilful bit and Walker could do McGuire's running for him.
(edited as I can't spell Harry's name)
If White is not available he's not an option, sad as it is. Maguire and Stones were two excellent options to bring the ball out of defence, for all of Guehi's clear qualities he's not an equivalent in that regard, so we're left with Walker trying to do it.petej wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 9:16 pmWe go back to the obvious not Trent option being the unavailable White at rightback. The great Frank Worthington once said of another player ‘he controls the ball farther than I can kick it’inactionman wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 9:01 pmI wince every time he 'controls' the ball.JM2K6 wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2024 8:58 pmI thought it was far from his worst game but yes, he is there for his pace.
