Aussies winning the first T20 at a canter, but the Aussies have twice pulled away from the crease after the ball has been bowled, and one of the balls hit the stumps (Inglis). Looks like a deliberate tactic for the 24 yard ball Watt bowls, and the Umpires have sided with the aussies. Looks like cheating to me.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

Looks to have been a chastening day, albeit the Grange in the sun looks good.

It's not that difficult. He's bowled a legal ball it should be out.Paddington Bear wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 3:56 pm Looks to have been a chastening day, albeit the Grange in the sun looks good.

Whilst I take your point, the exact same thing happened when Scotland played Oman who I don’t think are anyone’s idea of a cricketing giantBiffer wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 5:26 pmFixed that for youPaddington Bear wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 5:22 pmYep. But if an Aussie had bowled either of those balls vs someone like Scotland, they would both have been given out. That's the point.Paddington Bear wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 5:27 pmWhilst I take your point, the exact same thing happened when Scotland played Oman who I don’t think are anyone’s idea of a cricketing giant

I’m really not convinced - brushing the stumps by the bowler is now a no ball for similar nonsense reasons and that involved an English bowlerBiffer wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 5:39 pmBut if an Aussie had bowled either of those balls vs someone like Scotland, they would both have been given out. It wouldn't have changed the result. You still would have copped a flogging. This is our t20 C team so well done Scotland. Imagine playing a Test against this rabble lol.Biffer wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 5:39 pmBut if an Aussie had bowled either of those balls vs someone like Scotland, they would both have been given out. Is there any sport Scotland are good at? Maybe we should institute a world championship in eating deep fried Mars bars. Reckon you would have a chance at finally becoming world class in that.....

I always regarded the long ball as legal, but also that the bowler is a bit shit because he can't work out his run-up.
We were always taught that you watch the bowler when he starts his runup - especially spinners - so the Aussies pissing about with their grip/feet instead is their own fault.

We'll see what happens Friday and Saturday, when there will be a drunker, rowdier crowd. Including me.Sandstorm wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 11:29 am I always regarded the long ball as legal, but also that the bowler is a bit shit because he can't work out his run-up.![]()

So long as you bowl from in front of the umpire, it is entirely legitimate. It’s an increasingly useful tactic for spinners in an era of big bats (I use it myself)Sandstorm wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 11:29 am I always regarded the long ball as legal, but also that the bowler is a bit shit because he can't work out his run-up.![]()

Okay, in what world are people combining booze and Mars bars? That's either an initiation challenge or just plain wrong, and there's a fair argument initiation challenges are wrong
It's an aussie indulging in stereotyping people because of their nationality. Not a shock really.Rhubarb & Custard wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 1:51 pm

He only scuttles out from beneath his rock to troll as and when an Aussie sports team win.
I just said your cricket team were cheats, not the rest of you. And who I support in Oz v Eng depends on the sport and which way the wind is blowing that day. You on the other hand, indulged in full blown stereotype. England are playing Oz alter this month. Great.
Looking at the long-range weather forecast for September, they won't.

For Aussies the BBL is kicking off 15th Dec with the Scorchers playing the Stars

Can the Heat repeat ?
Yes in the last year we have retained the Ashes on Mud Island. Won the ODI World Cup, and won the World Test Championship. Plus we just gave Scotland a priso raping a few days ago.
So yeah you're right, Australia doesn't win much anymore

You English would have died of a self masturbatory hyperbolic explosion if you had had a year like we have just had lol. I mean has anyone forgotten the 2015 English RWC team putting out a video congratulating themselves on winning a home World Cup PRIOR to the first game. Let alone the disgraceful carry on during the last Ashes

3rd Test about to start - shame it's a dead rubber.
I'll be interested to see how Josh Hull goes - McCullum loves his inexperienced tall bowlers, doesn't he?

I think it has been a necessary approach as Leach wasn't a good enough long term spin option and with Broad and Anderson retiring and Archer and Wood being made of biscuit they need a good pool of pace bowlers.
It is curious they haven't taken the same approach with openers. Lawrence isn't an opener and isn't the long term option to replace Duckett or Crawley either.

Yep, very decent cricketer but not an opener - it's not really fair (or useful) to expect him to step into a specialist role just because he's continually 12th man.Big D wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2024 10:40 amSearching for the next batch of bowlers hoping they will come good quickly.inactionman wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2024 9:59 am 3rd Test about to start - shame it's a dead rubber.

He's out for a single-figure score again.
(Alongside decent middle order batting, he's got the most hilarious bowling action I've ever seen).
You're pulling the end off it over a series you drew with England, so I'm not sure you're in a position to lecture anyone.Deepsouth wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2024 9:27 amEnvy is a corrosive emotion old boy. Particularly given your hilarious cowardice in the face of your rugby team's ineptness
PS I think you did make up that bit about the video, BTW. And our cricket team's won quite a lot in the last decade or so, we're currently in a phase of getting grumpy over a Test team of sloggers not being as good as real Test sides - do try to keep up
I was at the game so didn't have to tolerate that fuckin eejits banalities. For some reason he thinks I'm worried about losing to Australia and don't realise this is a warm up for them and development for us. But that's because he's thick as fuck (which is obviously why his ancestors were deported). Enjoyed it, in the haar, pegged the aussies back well in the second half of their innings, but nobody clicked in the batting, Munsey got over excited after knocking seventeen off the first over. We go again tomorrow.

Now look who's stereotyping. All Australians now have convict blood do they? You pricks are such hypocrites. That goes a long way to explaining why the UK is such a cess pit. No convict blood here you dribbling fool. In fact the family came out in 1795 as free settlers from a little place called Loch Crinan in Argyle. They knew even then that Scotland and the UK was a bit shit and chose to build a new life in the lucky country.
And thank God they did otherwise I might have become a parasitic cunt just like you so called gentlemen lol.
