Bad luck Bulls. If you don't know by now, Boeta can't kick pressure opportunities. It's every time. Should rather have Boeta at 10 and a decent kicker at 15.
It was sad to knock you guys out. The Bulls and Sharks have really invested in our overseas based players and brought then back home. So we are kindred spirits trying to build a formidable force going forward. It waa Karma that the match ended in a draw.
Here's to a great future for both our sides.
Geez I feel for the Sharks. How do you get it up for the final after playing 100 minutes of rugby at that level.
Lions definitely favorites. Although we have beaten them already. And that's 2 in a row against the Bulls too. I reckon they should just rest with light cardio till Wednesday.
Let's hold thumbs.

Bar the drama of the red/yellow cards, I thought was a very slow stop/start type of game. Every scrum and/or lineout there was some stoppage in play. Was screaming at the ref to get the game going, lot's of time wasting. Don't know how the Bulls lost that game against 12 men at one stage, but kudos must go to the Sharks for pulling it through. That is some character shown by the boys. Good luck in the final Sharkies.

Jake White fall on the sword again. Wonder where he need to poach now from.
Why...he made the finals and drew the match against a very good Sharks side...OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 7:57 am Jake White fall on the sword again. Wonder where he need to poach now from.
Dobson?????
WP didnt even make the top 4...placed 7th avoiding the wooden spoon with the Griffons
Long game....they were all knackered. Can't blame a stop start match.LoveOfTheGame wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 7:47 am Bar the drama of the red/yellow cards, I thought was a very slow stop/start type of game. It was incredibly attritional...
WP/Stormers can be gratefull they have 2 extra weeks to prepare for the URC.
Plum has said that this victory is messing with his URC plannning....and of course the danger of injuries...

Yeah fingers crossed no injuries for both sides. Sharks need to hit the ground running when the real rugby starts and build confidence from the get-go in the URC. They have a hell of a team this season, so no excuses. That counts for Plums as well, in fact I'm not sure your DOR is the right man for the job either.Sards wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 9:24 amLong game....they were all knackered. Obviously the goal is now for the 3rd trophy

Is.
You know....looking at the side that played this weekend.
Our forwards were probably bolstered by Pepsi and the twins from the URC squad. And the twins needed game time in the dynamite , black and white.
Our backline was bolstered by Masuka , Ethan and AE. Otherwise they have pretty much stuck with JPs squad. Lots of youngsters. So that was fantastic experience for them playing against a URC team from the Bulls.
Obviously Plum has been focused on the URF squad. His remarks were about losing players to the CC squad. When he needed to work with them.

After all the doom and gloom the past three years , it look like the Sharks and Lions finally catch up to the Bulls and Stormers. This is great for SA Rugby.

I don't think he expected the Sharks 15 to beat the Bulls who almost had a full URC team.
JP was doing the waterboy thing.
Good on Plum for not interfering.
I think Plum would gladly pull his URC players back and let the youngsters contest the final

So JP was "coaching" the team as waterboy next to the field and Plumtree was in the coaching box as spectator? Sure, that makes sense. I also noticed the Bulls Currie Cup coach was in their coaching box, not Jake White. Says a lot doesn't it?Sards wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 2:00 pmNeil and Plum were in the coaching box enjoying the match.LoveOfTheGame wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 1:47 pm I thought he was. As I said I don't think Plum expected a win. It's not his primary focus. Look. Andre and the twins needed a hit out in the black and white. Trevor too. I imagine they are really looking forward to playing games for the franchise. In any form. Plum was probably there to see how they performed and how they were going to fit into our URC squad.
All I can say is that the depth that has been built up is ridiculous. Our juniors are starting to shine and are knocking on the URC door.....which is obviously an entry into the the boks.
Nah. I am super stoked that the Sharks are heading in the right direction and that we are building for the future. Our players that couldn't knock the URC door down are littered amongst the other unions and doing well.

Until Jake changes his defensive coaching setup, these kind of loses will continue to rack up in important games. Does not matter if you set records for tries scored in a season but keep conceding the same amount of tries as well. So as much as I would give Jake praise for the good that happened to the Bulls since he came along, he is to blame for the crap defensive system as well while he keeps his buddies there. Just about everyone can see that the Bulls have a massive defensive problem.OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 7:57 am Jake White fall on the sword again. Wonder where he need to poach now from.
How many chokes is that for Jake at the Bulls now?OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 7:57 am Jake White fall on the sword again. Wonder where he need to poach now from.
There was the "Rainbow Cup" final loss against Benetton in 2021.
Then in 2021-2022 URC they lost the first final against the Stormers, although I don't think that can be called a choke necessarily. It was in Cape Town afterall.
2022-2023 they dropped out in an away quarter final.
2023-2024 URC was the home final loss vs Glasgow and to cap off 2024 they had the semi-final choke against the Sharks.
Not really a great resume for Jake there.
Hows WP this currie cup
7th of 8
And here the Stomps are casting shade on JW
Oh I forgot. It's never WPs fault
Pathetic
Vok off and go sort out Dobbo
I've had a bad feeling about this family trust deal. .
Someone is making a packet out of this putting nothing in. Suddenly when SARU gives the top 4 unions 50bar Stormers are in the market for Sonele.....who ouboet doesn't rate at all.
Very snoek smelly

I believe he can be quite a doos but that's not bad if you are dealing with high profile athletes.
I noticed you had a hard on for him.

Stomps just can't help themselves. This is their first CC without SARU funding and administration.
Also their first URC campaign too. Going to be interesting.
But one thing for sure...Stomps will be casting shade left right and centre....that is their nature

I see the Sharks supporters are getting cocky again. Writing off the Lions at home. You have to wonder where the self-confidence is coming from. Must be a Westville thing, very much like a Cameron Wright scenario. All talk, but no walk.

And to think, some called for Tank to go to the WC instead of Trev.
