Basically the epitome of Borthwick's England that.

Some good defence, some shit defence.

Brief glimpses we could be useful as a team with ball in hand, but mostly clueless, negative, and pretty rubbish. Only really playing when absolutely forced to and/or the game is done and opposition easing down.

As per many of my posts... bin the useless lump, yesterday.

Yeah? Bet you can't tell me the 3rd one.
The one just before his yellow, Aki, and one on the opposite side
Nope. The one before his yellow when he got done by the footwork, the Aki one, and a regulation bump in midfield that got Ireland an extra yard before the player got gang tackled.

Look, this is a very silly discussion. The guy has shown time and time again that despite his slight stature, his defence is good enough for international rugby. A high profile steamroller like that doesn't change it. I know you like to make the most of these situations but as always you're over reaching, particularly given everyone else you've mentioned having quite obviously poor games in defence today.
Listen mate, as payback for getting a quiet house to watch the Scotland game I had 2 kids in the room with me, one spent the whole game trying to make me play the part of disabled Barbie in her game and the other was doing naked headstands whilst slapping his arse in front of the TV so, no, I can’t give you the exact timings. But I stand by it, now let’s move on.

We saw a second/third gear France at best last night, they will get better. I think Ireland will too.
France's midfield was very bad and they were in general extremely slack against Wales. Far too easy for them. Very hard to tell if they will step it up or not. Should be a fun tournament.

Torque's stopped clock was right on Ntamack last night but he won't be around for a couple of weeks at least. Jalibert should make a difference, if he gets picked.

Oh I'm sorry, was I supposed to use stats from some other game when discussing how bonkers it was to suggest all the other 10s were ahead based on tackling in today's matches?

I would not expect to see that next week now that Ntamack is gone. However, I'm no fan of Moefana and he and Barassi are too similar so yesterday was no surprise to me. Also, if Penaud is back, then holes will simply be punched from the wing.

He wasn't exactly hot shit in attack or at the ruck, either. Can't say I noticed Willis but at this point we do need a punchy carrier and his weight of carrying has to be worth a look. Earl can take some time on the bench given he's not really performed at a high standard for England since the world cup.

Pick the best Curry (not sure who that would be) and maybe Ted Hill at 6 and the balance is way better

Did I hear right that France didn't usually get their full 20's team until the JRWC?

We won the slam one year and then they trounced us at the jrwc.

I think a few of them are playing in the Top 14 or are around the full squad and held in reserve, so they don't appear in this competition

Hah. No. This was already a much weakened squad and now the only real T14 experienced of Gazotti, Tolofua, Carbonneau, Reus, Darricarrere, Noah and Attisogbe are not likely to see any more game time at this level.

The Bayonne FB Mosques is the only player I recognise.

{EDIT} Apologies. Tolofua on the bench.

Pretty much that. See earlier post of mine on why Fra have been prominent at RWC level for several years but don't show much in the 6N. 6N clashes with T14 and so you aren't going to see the likes of Gazzotti.
