The judge had to remind herself not to let her anger take over. Remarkable indeed.
This ruling will be overturned. And rightly so
You've not read the detail of the case have you, in particular the legal argument behind the Judges decision? The DOJ got eviscerated for its preparation for the case, trying to change its submission when challenged and for the substance of what it was trying to defend. On a purely legal basis there is no chance it will be overturned ... however in Trumpland we now know the rule of law means feck all unfortunately.
It will be and should be overturned

If low level district court judges want to make decisions like this run for office.

That's not how it works. He has a case presented to him and he makes a judgement as he MUST do. The parties can appeal it up the line if they want.

I know some Conservatives that now see Poilievre is a negative nerd who's got nothing going for him now that Trudeau's gone.

I think he fucked it in going totally on that route when the history of our elections should have told him that people were already tired of him and he could have pulled in even more people by positively going "I'm going to be middle of the road and here are some things we'll do to ease the cost of living because the pandemic screwed a lot of things for a lot of you."

Instead, this is his playbook...

Missouri, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, all red states who voted for Trump and now they get limited warnings because the weather service is being cut and they’ll get no help from FEMA because it’s gone.

DOGE told OPM to issue a template letter/email using poor performance as the reason why they were summarily sacking employees in order to avoid due process and costs of sacking folk. Letters were sent out to 1,000s of folk who had exemplary performance and service records and this was all recorded on their files. Turns out Judge has seen through the smoke and mirrors, saw it for exactly what it was and deemed it illegal and order immediate re employment and a cease on all similar cases in a number of other depts. The DOJ presented a shite defence and almost ran away when challenged. This could cost the US Gov a lot more $$$ than any savings they might have made. Musk and his bunch of useless, inexperienced laptop warriors getting their arses handed to them!

There's no depth they won't sink to.
Arlington National Cemetery has scrubbed from its website information and educational materials about the history of black and female service members.

Some of the content unpublished from the site was on veterans who had received the nation's highest military recognition, the Medal of Honor, according to military news site Task & Purpose.

The content removal is part of a larger effort by President Donald Trump to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practices in the military and throughout the federal government.

Approximately 400,000 veterans are buried in the Army-run cemetery, which was established after the US Civil War at the home of the South's general, Robert E. Lee.

On the cemetery's website, internal links that directed users to webpages with information about the "Notable Graves" of dozens of black, Hispanic and female veterans were missing on Friday.

The pages contained short biographies about veterans such as Gen Colin L Powell, the first black chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, which is the highest rank in the military after the president.

They also told the life stories of members of the Tuskegee Airmen, the country's first black military airmen.

Earlier this year, the Defense Department had to reinstate training materials on the revered airmen after a national outcry over their removal following Trump's orders on DEI.

Information on Hector Santa Anna, a World War II bomber pilot and career military leader who has been called a hero of the war, has been taken down, as well.

Visitors to the site may also have trouble finding information, as links to major sections have disappeared. It no longer lists pages for African American History, Hispanic American History and Women's History.

Content still exists on some notable women buried there, including former Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and 14 veterans from the unit recently featured in the Oscar-nominated movie The Six Triple Eight, but it is only found from a direct search.

Since re-entering the White House, President Donald Trump has signed multiple executive orders banning DEI within the federal government.

A spokesperson for the cemetery said in a statement it was working to restore links and content and remained "committed to sharing the stories of military service and sacrifice to the nation", according to the Washington Post.

It added that it wanted to ensure that the content aligned with Trump's orders and also with instructions from Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth.

Read that Canadians are foregoing their summer holidays in the US this year, analysts reckon bookings already 80% down on previous years. US holiday sector taking a bit of a hit as tourists from other countries are also looking elsewhere. Trumpeconomics, a misnomer is ever I've heard one, is working well!

Yeah bonespurs is part of it; but I was also struck by Rubio, who once upon a time wanted to be taken seriously, calling out the Saffer Ambassador, while at the same time his own Administration was trying to erase the history of sacrifice & service of thousands of people of colour, simply because they were that !!!

Tell me again why it's wrong, or inaccurate to call these despicable fuckers Nazis ?

Don't be silly !

... chickenshit God boy of a speaker has already told the GOP cocksuckers to stop doing, "Town Halls", because they're well aware just how fucking awful all this is for their constituencies.

I was watching a video earlier, & God boy himself, in his constituency, has ~25% of his 18-65 voters on medicaid, & about the same percentage on food stamps !!!!!

So two of the programs that Space Karen & the GOP are determined to gut, so they can give tax cuts to billionaires are going to destroy the lives of the idiots who voted for the GOP.

You can see why he doesn't want them having meetings, with video, when people realize just how badly their going to get fucked for the next four years.

You could kind of explain this away if the individuals were still searchable by name so you could claim "everybody is treated the same" and "no special treatment for minorities" but it's actually full and total erasure of non-white people.

Even while the government was forcibly moving 10,000s+ of Japanese-Americans into concentration camps and confiscating their assets, a significant number of these people signed up to serve in the army of that country, fighting with extreme distinction in the 442nd regiment. So what do Corporal Bone Spurs and Boozy Pete do?

Black Medal of Honor recipient removed from US Department of Defense website

The US defense department webpage celebrating an army general who served in the Vietnam war and was awarded the country’s highest military decoration has been removed and the letters “DEI” added to the site’s address.

On Saturday, US army Maj Gen Charles Calvin Rogers’s Medal of Honor webpage led to a “404” error message. The URL was also changed, with the word “medal” changed to “deimedal”.

Rogers, who was awarded the Medal of Honor by then president Richard Nixon in 1970, served in the Vietnam war, where he was wounded three times while leading the defense of a base.

You'd think they'd draw the line or at least wait a bit longer before going after the veterans/military history, ffs, given how quick they are to thank someone for their service, wank over the military at sports events, etc.

Its their game plan - flood the park with lots and lots of shite and by the time folk see it and react then its too late and some more shite has hit the fan. Keep ,moving fast and disrupt the whole time. It is a bit like the 99 call of the 1974 Lions? Some might also compare it to the Nazi war tactics of Blitzkrieg - break the lines, dislocate the defenders and confuse the enemy by continuously changing the point of the attack? The US constitution and the so called checks and balances via the branches of Government is under real threat and is being rendered unable to respond by the coordinated attacks on it. The lunatics are winning and are taking over full control of the asylum! This is part of the Project 2025 plan and it is working!

PS I still have a few tin foil hats for anyone needing one!

Surely no current president can unilaterally void or nullify pardons issued by an earlier president.

It's really not a surprise at this point that it's all empty rhetoric and ideological inconsistency.

Trump has been belittling and minimising veterans since he ran the first time. From calling prisoners of war losers to the Arlington cemetery stunt, it's been at least a decade of unabashedly disrespecting the military.

Republicans didn't call it out then and they certainly won't now because they never actually cared.

They are constantly pushing the boundaries. The flights to Venezuela are a prime example. They have violated a order from the courts in proceeding with them for "national security reasons". It's plain as day and their response is "whatcha going to do about it".

Next one will be more egregious and before you know it, actual US citizens will be getting deported and maybe even an unfortunate accident or two to test the waters.

I think they are on a civil war/repression track at this stage. Even if the non-loonies wrest power back in the midterms or next presidency, any moves to undo the damage will be painted as tyranny and repression so the right will kick off and their work infiltrating the police and army will come to fruition.
They need a Lincoln or Mandela level statesman (or woman) to change track at this stage.

See the Spanish civil war for how I think this will go.
Plenty of similarities as to how both empires have declined also.

Buggered if I know where this mythical Lincoln/Mandela statesman is going to come from, as it looks to me as if the society — not only politics — is hopelessly split.
