Can confirm...

https://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/pop ... /2sp5swyej
Pope Francis, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, has died aged 88.

Cardinal Kevin Farrell announced the death on the Vactican's TV channel, saying: "Dear brothers and sisters, it is with profound sadness I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis.

"At 7:35 this morning the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father."

Met JD Vance and realized there was no hope for mankind - so he dipped.

Seemed like a decent man - shameful institution though.

I believe the queen's last visitor was Liz Truss.
We need to limit old people's exposure to really stupid people.

He did, but the next day, Vance managed to find him. It was not, apparently, a planned meet.

As Popes go, he was one of the less objectionable. Hopefully his successor doesn't walk back the baby steps made towards progress.

I'm sure we're all awaiting Trump's input to the papal election with bated breath.

More seriously, I bet he tries to make some kind of public message about the type of pope they should elect, or a 'why not an American pope?' or some such cuntery

JD Vance will have the inside info ... or should we now say 'Chief' Bishop JD Vance ... I expect a rapid escalation (purchase) of his status in the church. Who is going to explain to Trump and his facist mob the difference between Doge and DOGE?

The funeral should be fun. Trump will see it as an opportunity to show off and be the 'big man' in public and is going to get pissed off if he doesn't get front and centre seats at the Funeral, which he won't. This funeral is going to be a shitfest of sad old men trying to piss higher up the lamppost than other sad old men. I hope Pope Francis has left explicit instructions about how he wants his funeral to be run, he didn't have any time nor respect for these vainglorious bastards and I cant see him wanting them to use his passing as an opportunity to strut around on a world stage like desperate impotent peacocks - hope he will put them in his place from beyond the grave.

He may have a serious job, bt he's not a serious person. There's a reason he talks about the Fed chair being a total loser

But I would now favour an African pope having not thought about it before, maybe they can even ask for the black smoke to be the confirmatory signal in such event. Granted that may also deliver someone way more conservative than I'd like, so swings and roundabouts

My Pope related Wikipedia delving has led me to the Cadaver Synod. Seriously, what on Earth were they up to in the 9th century?

Isn't a black Pope one of the signs of the, "Apocalypse" ?

Not that I am anti the idea, just that the religious wack jobs are already in full froth mode, so the last thing they need is more bullshit "signs" that it's End Of Days...

Many people are calling it a total disgrace. Nobody's done more for Catholicism than Trump's America. The king did them a yuge favour by stacking the Supreme Court with corrupt fundy loons who overturned abortion rights, but didn't get a word of thanks from Frank. So ungrateful. Every conclave so far has been totally rigged. The Holy See is a cesspool of radical extreme left-wing deep-state Trump haters. It's so unfair.

Sorry, but Pope Owen is the Antichrist, the true Pope is Pope Marcus, and we're moving the lot to Twickenham.

I know we've let down a lot of children but is moving a bucket load more priests into an area not simply too appalling to contemplate?
