Agreed.

Willie can be infuriating to watch and has a crazy error count sometimes...but then he sets up the pass to Kolbe that results in the Jantjies score that results in a draw against the All Blacks away.
Or joins the line and set up a pin-point flat pass for a try like no other SA player.

I've always had a preference for a safe, bankable, last-line-of-defense fullback...but the last one we had was Percy.
If I had to choose between an error-prone Willie vs an error-prone Zane Kirchner nor Andries Coetzee, it's a no-brainer.
I have to admit, I'm really worried about our back-ups at 15 because none of Willemse, Bosch or Galant really fill me with much confidence.
I think Willemse can turn into a good fullback. He is a solid lad, can kick out of hand, not shy to run it to the line and a very good defender. It also might take away his approach of trying to create magic with every touch.
Watch Odendaals run for Jantjies try...watch the last defender...watch how he throws himself onto the floor like a petulant child and has a mini tantrum whilst Odendaal ghosts past him without a hand touching him.....
No offence, but I only talk rugby with people that watch and understand rugby.

Willemse has time on his side, let's hope all the people hyping him are right and that he will come through in the end. Writing players off aged 22 is daft.
Agree that he is still a kid and will mature as a player. I'm looking forward to that.
Just saying he's not there yet, and I'm not going to pretend that he is.

At the moment he is not impressing at flyhalf at all and our backline is useless.
In the passed we blamed the 9 or 12 for that, but 9 has been sorted now, so the blame has to go to 10.
If he is too young to be an effective general at this level, we need to start with somebody else and sub Willemse in in the last quarter to develop his game.
Agree with all of that, I would like to see him go up North for a couple of seasons to get some structure in his game.

Rugby onslaught has had it in for the Boks since we won the world cup. According to them we bought the ref's, we cheated, our players are kak sleg and we should just give the cup back. They're a bit of a joke shop really.

Ok that's why, I was already wondering what a joke that is. Didn't know that site. Looking at the other articles, it makes sense now

You are so obsessed with Gazza, its getting boring.

You must watch Chasing the sun to understand the works within the Springbok team.

Jantjies played an important role preparing in the lead up to the next test playing like the opposition 10 in practises.

After watching that its obvious that he will walk into the Bok team if Pollard gets injured. I also see that Johan Goosen is going to the Bulls. Once he start playing, he'll walk into the Bok team.

Rassie playing with a 6/2 split on the bench make versatile players like Pollard/Steyn/Goose/Gazza important.

Quite right. I think possibly Rassie's best skill is his ability to pick the players with the best attitude, heart and kop. Goosen might be playing SupeRugby and Currie Cup for a while...

Pretty much this. Shit site and bad hit job on Handre. Some of those were bad passes TO him, yet he gets blamed? Or other defenders running into him?

Could make a similar video on any player when you follow them around for a couple of matches and make a compilation of their fuck ups.

Ja. Look he was made of glass early on in his career but The Widowmaker Meyer killed his Bok career by playing him while injured.

I cant argue that. Locks and fatties are like red wine , older the better. Both are still spring chickens and raw but have the talent to go places.

Their combination are right.

The Daily Maverick has a Maverick Sport podcast. It’s not rugby specific, but they do have coaches and former players on from time to time.

This interview with Jacques Nienaber in July was quite interesting. https://podcasts.apple.com/za/podcast/m ... 0485175322

PSDT who is up for player of the decade award? Not a bad role model.

You need to understand that in rugby, you can't run from the word go. You need to build an innings. Watch Chasing the Sun on Sundays. I find it weird that you post on here without educating yourself, you risk exposing yourself as ignorant.
