59-23 at full time.
Didn't expect that, but well done HB - what a season they're having.
I already had Fakatava as my Mitre 10 MVP before today, but now it's daylight in second place. He looks like our next great halfback, imho. It would be criminal if he's stuck behind Smith at the Highlanders for another season.

didn't really deserve to be in the finals...but moving on, who do we like? I lived in Mt Maunganui for a couple of years but generally think Tasman play better footy...
No Pasaran...
It is easy for me: Tasman are part of the Crusaders.Taranaki Snapper wrote: Sat Nov 21, 2020 6:08 am didn't really deserve to be in the finals...but moving on, who do we like? I lived in Mt Maunganui for a couple of years but generally think Tasman play better footy...

No Sam Nock is a big blow for Northland. Don't rate them much chance, but stranger things have happened.
Yep, they were already underdogs, but the loss of Nock really lengthens the odds against them.mrbrownstone wrote: Thu Nov 26, 2020 4:01 am No Sam Nock is a big blow for Northland. Don't rate them much chance, but stranger things have happened.

Two evenly matched teams. 6 current Crusaders and several more former Crusaders makes it easy to know who to support. Go Tasman!

Hawke's Bay were full value for the win.
Credit to Northland though. They didn't let the Magpies swoop in on the title unchallenged.
It looked like the Bay were going to run right away with it, but a couple of disallowed tries, coupled with some Northland grit, saw them earn a comfortable win rather than give the Cambridge Blues a hiding.

Yep, it was an enjoyable Final, and credit to the Taniwha for hanging in there.Jimmy Smallsteps wrote: Fri Nov 27, 2020 8:35 am Hawke's Bay were full value for the win.

Can't resist hyping Fakatava yet again. The work he does from a Northland scrum at about 50 minutes - making the dominant midfield tackle to help win the turnover, then running good support, then hitting the gas when he gets the ball, then skipping past Gregory with almost disdainful ease, then providing the final pass for the HB try - just unreal.

Wash your mouth out. Everyone knows that Auckland are the salt of the earth peoples champion while tasman is a bunch of no loyalty mercenaries. It would be a travesty of rugby if Auckland lost.JPNZ wrote: Fri Nov 27, 2020 11:54 pm Can sense a wee Mako upset tonight, should be a cracking game.
Hope they get massive crowd and the game lives up to the occasion. If either of the teams can play as well as hawkes bay did last night it will be entertaining as hell
