There were clouds like that at the end of the day Thursday with the sun going down, they were a dark pink. By the time I got outside, half the effect was gone and then my camera couldn't get a good shot without a tripod. :(

Ah well, you could have been a contender, you could have been someone.

I wondered why 'Todger Strunk' was trending, thinking it was maybe something about Trump. Nope, it's in reference to Jack Nicklaus' granddaughter marrying a guy who's first name is 'penis'! (Even if he was born before Google, he must know now?! Call yourself 'Todd' ffs!)

The realisation that the Canterbury logo is not just three red C's, as revealed to me earlier this week on Twitter, has shaken me much more than it should.
In particular the fact that I probably could have looked at that logo for another 20 years without ever seeing it. And I've got a lot of Canterbury stuff as they make our club's kit.

Well, not me. Nor my wife and son. Our conversation for 30 minutes after seeing it was essentially us repeating "WTF?" at each other.

Getting ready for the great alignment

Image
Tonight is the Great Jupiter/Saturn conjunction. Just look how close these two giant planets are (as seen from our perspective of course). All four of the Galilean moons and three of Saturn's ones are visible in the one image. The 7th magnitude star HIP 99314 is visible next to Jupiters moon Callisto. In terms of distance the starlight has taken 240 years to reach us, whereas the light from the moon/Jupiter only around 45 minutes.
