If it is because of the timing of the semi finals and finals, then why not just push them back a couple of weeks? It's not like anyone has bought tickets. At least doing so would bring back some credibility to this competition.
Pretty much this.
It is not like it will clash with any other rugby commitments.

Semi finals confirmed.

Bulls vs Lions at Loftus - Might be tight for a half, but I expect the Bulls to win comfortably like they did on Wednesday.

WP vs saarkies at Newlands - The final should be at Loftus, so this is pretty much the final game at Newlands. It's sad that it's against a lowkey team, but in these times we take what we can get. Let us hope the saarkies get their house in order and actually pitch for the match. They've got out of 2 matches vs WP already, but they can't run forever.

Rainbow Cup doesn't start until April at the earliest.

Given the rise in numbers across the country, wouldn't be surprised to see other teams coming back with positive cases soon.

Looks like WP have some Covid cases in their team too.

In the same gracious spirit that the WP fans have shown on here, I'd like to wish their players a speedy recovery.

I am not sure if Sards, Lemoen and Chilli are WP fans. They drove that. The Kolisi family had been quarantined as far as I know.

Covid WP should be banned from the PRO-14 next season and replace by the Kings.

Let the record reflect that Chili is NOT a WP fan and that the WP fans are not exactly not guilty of the above.

it is also reliably learned that the Cape Town team has registered new cases
Why would they keep quiet about the matter if there were reports and only mention it after the Sharks with double digit infections reported it. If you think that the Bulls and Griquas showed infections after playing the Stormers you have to wonder if they were hiding it from public

There are strict Corvid-19 protocols in place. The Sharks lot were more interest in surfing.

Very true.

Saru rules for semi is that the team with the higher log position go through if its cancelled for whatever reason.

Goodbye Sharks.

Well, if that is true, then the better teams will contest the final. Just a pity it could not have been at Newlands, the second oldest rugby stadium in the world.

Still begs the question. Why did WP not report cases before the match unless they were hiding the fact and risking infecting other teams by keeping quiet. They need an audit done on their protocols....maybe they have infections in their pack...let's be honest...without the pack they are nothing so it would be in there best interests to keep it quiet

Clutching at straws here, son. No way doctors will be convinced to lie about something like this, too much at stake.

At least the saarks forwards can enjoy the rest, they weren't looking forward going up against Kitsie and co.

Back to work next Monday. Sucks big time.
Had a masseuse come around this afternoon for a home session and all those lumps and bumps are tender right now but I am sure it's going to be great later. Just had a glass of water..then its dubie time and a dip in the pool ... and then braai time. Trying to create the illusion of a tropical getaway before I put shoulder to the grind wheel again....

Who is back at work already?.

In a move designed to bolster the Sharks’ ambitions of becoming a global force in world rugby, the KwaZulu-Natal franchise has welcomed a dynamic new investor as their majority partner,’ a statement read.
Brian van Zyl, the newly elected president of the KwaZulu-Natal Rugby Union, expressed confidence that the partnership has come at the right time and with the right partners for the Sharks.

‘In all our dealings with Marco Masotti, it was abundantly clear that his consortium, together with SuperSport, will bring not only greater commercial savviness but also international ties that will result in the Sharks becoming one of the most recognised global sports brands,’ Van Zyl said.

CC finals between Bulls vs WP is like WC finals between Springbokke vs All Blacks.

The biggest rivalry in SA Rugby.

WP dropped the ball here...the biggest problem of a buy out acquisition is that management of the bought out entity will eventually be gone. Zelt vokked over WP for personal gain...said it before

Sharks have always been at the forefront of innovation in South Africa. Started professionalism. Taking rugby here to the next level and hopefully keeping politics out of the union. I just can't see what Zelt saw other than his stomach. It's a bitter taste that they went after WP first. Thankfully WP were too up the ANC s arse.

Talk about clowns.... I kept saying. WP supporters are too complacent. Should have tackled Zelt long ago. That's the thing with them. They get let down again and again and will still fill the stadium like sheep

Vokken weird that WP was the Americans first choise.

They should rather invest in Vrystaat. Much better investment like the scoreboard shown.

Sharks will kick their money in the air.

Been warning Province supporters for years to sort out their administration.

Doubt another investment company will deal with the ANC again.

The fat fiery one will be going to France next season. Fatty Malherbe should move to the yukon valley mountains, grow his neck beard thick and get a part in the cast for mountain men.

Fantastic news about the deal with MVM Holdings, especially with our move up north so close. The extra cash will allow us to hold onto the extra talent and compete with the NH salaries. Great to hear about their grand plans for the Sharks brand too.

I see the link is between Vincent Mai and Kolisi. I doubt this is enough to get Kolisi to move up to Durban; especially if his roots are in CT and he has kids there. At least he has a guaranteed starting spot at WP, might not be the case at the Sharks.

To be fair to Kolisi would more than likely start in the CURRENT Sharks pack.
