I feel sorry for the Griquas players and managment. They were competitive for most games.

Oom, the comments about Malherbe on here are laughable. He has taken on every prop in the country and came out not just on top, but dominating. One just wished they were gracious enough to concede that.
He is an awesome prop. He's like one of those Bulgarian weight lifters. Must have a really strong core, back and legs. He does however look like an absolute fat mess. Someone you'd expect to be propping up the bar at Mystic Boer in Stellies.

No they have Boishaaier a Thomas and Paul Roser John Hubert. Cameron will play for Hawies and fellow Paul Rosers and Maties like Reniel Hugo, Chris Smit and Reinhardt Fortuin.

If it is because of the timing of the semi finals and finals, then why not just push them back a couple of weeks? It's not like anyone has bought tickets. At least doing so would bring back some credibility to this competition.
Glad to see the rugby administrators are finally listening to me.

Still a baby. Got absolutely folded in the scrums. Pumas hooker is a tank and him and the loosehead did a real number on Wessels. Maybe too tall for tighthead? I'd like too see him drop 5kg and try blindside flank. He's exactly the same height and weight as Willem Alberts.

Rassie and NieNaber wants it to keep our players going
IOL
While SA Rugby have yet to announce any details about the Franchise Cup, it has been reported that it is a tournament that will fill the gap between the end of the Currie Cup, which will be completed with the final on January 30, and the start of the new PRO16 Rainbow Cup, which kicks off on April 17.

The Franchise Cup was initially mooted to be played between the Bulls, Sharks, Lions, Stormers and Cheetahs, but now Stonehouse hopes that the Pumas will be added as well.

IOL Sport understands that Saru director of rugby Rassie Erasmus will sign the final documents to confirm the Franchise Cup participants on Wednesday.

Hopefully booze ban lifted by then. Nothing better than a cold SAB milk stout to watch kakhouse rugby with. We need this compo to get in shape for Europe. Wonder if any of our Saffers playing in Japan will be available for the Rainbow cup. We badly need some of that experience.

Agree, I try to watch NH and Australasian rugby but struggle. Love watching SA Rugby even if it's the Sharks vs Bulls.

Pro16 will be great. We can support SA teams like in the S14 days.

I get the reason behind the Franchinse Cup - to keep the players fit and playing - but I just don't like meaningless tournaments. Even the way they blended the end of the SR competition with Currie Cup was weird. And now to kick out two teams which have actually been good value to watch.
