This lad is apparently a special needs person, autistic. His expression in the mug shot definitely gives that impression. Not sure what purpose is served putting him in prison, I'd say its actually appalling to put someone in prison who would be better served doing some sort of community service and counselling instead of being in a place with career criminals.

This was in Hull, some of the most grim incidents in the whole thing. Total lawlessness, the sky filled with towering black smoke from burning tyre barricades and underneath those black clouds open racist violence and looting. When drivers are being targeted because of their race, savage mobs hauling the occupants out of vehicles and wildly trying to destroy the cars whilst the occupants are being beaten or running for their lives, it's legitimate to say it's something close to an attempted pogrom. The BMW is mentioned because that attack went viral, there were others, not only men were attacked for not being white. It's extremely lucky no one died.

This guy is the person wearing the England flag shirt during that chaos in Hull. He's lucky to only be charged with property crimes and not involvement in crimes against people, UK law around joint enterprise means in a group situation where there's intent among all parties in the group to commit crime then all are open to being charged with crimes committed by the group even if they weren't personally involved in that specific incident, crimes against people are more serious than those against property and open to a joint enterprise charge. He has zero remorse, he was asking police if they wanted his autograph, he thinks he's famous because of the media coverage he has received. He'll be fortunate to get 3 years, which looks like the top end so far.

The largest sentences are going to come from the migrant hotel burning incidents. Arson with intent (max life sentence), racially aggravated, violent disorder, assaulting police, it was days in and there was clear prior group organisation (some "protestors" came with fighting dogs and let them loose on police, some came prepared with weapons, others came and watched as a family day out, prior organisation on social media, etc) which opens up possible joint enterprise charges. Seems impossible to argue they didn't all know they were taking part in organised illegal activity as a group. If it happens the usual suspects will cry about how unfair and draconian joint enterprise can be, the same people who didn't care or cheered when it was used against young black men/boys (they never imagine authoritarian laws they love being used against people they support). Hard to see how they get away 3 years. Someone can easily go down for decades for a crime they didn't commit nor intend to commit.

Worth taking notice who is complaining about the law being enforced, which is what stopped this becoming deadly. Same with the people who haven't voiced a word of criticism about the "protestors". Very sinister people. Truss, Braverman, Jenrick, and Big Dog all look even worse.

Patel and Rees-Mogg both come out of it looking better.

There seems to be a flailing around in desperation, trying to find some kind of intellectual basis to what is at its core is a regressive, divisive, insular view point. Peterson and Murray are certainly cut of that cloth, Bilbalsingh is new to me but seems to be following the same path.
Peterson in particular uses what appears to be deliberately opaque language to mask a stupid point, it's like QAnon for people who fancy themselves as intellectuals, but he does seem to impress some folk.

I had a look at the school Birbalsingh set up, I can only imagine the reception in the press that school would have had if it had been put in place by someone associated with the Labour Party - the strict uniforms, the shuffling along the corridors in silent single file, the ostracising of someone who didn't bring in their dinner money, the enforced praising of the school, each other and the staff, I can see screeching headlines of "Maoist Indoctrination Schools"

The roots of the Birbalsingh-Braverman partnership can be traced back just prior to the inception of the Michaela Community School Trust, in 2011. While most press accounts from the time indicate that the school was Birbalsingh’s idea, the involvement of Braverman from the school’s inception is very clear from Companies House records.

Backed by Braverman

The Michaela Community Schools Trust, which runs the Brent school and sixth form, was originally established without Birbalsingh listed as a director – but she soon officially came on board. Instead, the Trust originally listed among its directors Suella Braverman (then Sue-Ellen Fernandes), Sir Anthony Seldon, Dr Cleveland Anthony Sewell, and Indraneil Mahapatra, with Braverman, Mahapatra, and Sewell listed as shareholders.

Braverman’s mother, Uma Fernandes, was also listed as a director of the company between 2013-2014. The registered office address of the Michaela Community Schools Trust was, curiously, the same as Braverman’s listed address when the Trust was founded.

Braverman’s office did not respond to requests for comment on this, but a spokesperson for Birbalsingh said Braverman’s mother “gave out some flyers to help spread the word about the new school, so that parents knew they could apply.”

“At the time, Suella Fernandes [now Braverman] was a barrister and she was part of the steering group that set up the school. An address was needed for the company to be registered. She offered hers to use for that bureaucratic purpose,” the spokesperson added.

Building Blocks

Birbalsingh not only offered her support for Gove’s reforms but also defended him when he was fired from his position, accusing the Tories of “killing the goose that laid the golden eggs” of school reform.

The Michaela School received substantial funding from Gove’s department from its inception. As the Companies House documents reveal, the school received a standard academy capital grant from DfE, totalling £4.5 million at the time.

But despite the abundance of secondary schools in Brent, the Department for Education (DfE) also gifted the school its building. The DfE’s purchased a Wembley Park property for £8 million, which was subsequently transferred to Birbalsingh and Braverman’s institution without charge.

In a 2021 interview with the libertarian magazine, Birbalsingh said: “I always used to say that the white working classes were the new black people.” And she approvingly quoted a claim that “to rise up in the civil service, people needed to be able to speak Latin by the watercooler.”

Other not-so-subtle hints at her stance include saying “the extreme left are the ones preventing disadvantaged children from succeeding” while claiming that “critical race theory” – the nemesis of the right-wing – is a “massive issue in the US but we are really fighting these things here. And we are winning.”

During her time as headteacher she has made comments that Shakespeare’s inclusion in the curriculum was under threat from cancel culture, argued that children are born with “original sin” and needed to be “habituated into choosing good over evil”, and said it was “natural” for girls to avoid taking physics.

Playing to the Gallery

And amid the recent manufactured outrage over false reports of children in schools “identifying as cats” – a thinly-veiled transphobic dog-whistle that originated in the US – Birbalsingh claimed that this was not an isolated incident. There was no evidence provided that any children had actually identified as a cat.

Speaking at the recent hardline National Conservative conference – a conference which also saw Jacob Rees-Mogg admit that mandatory voter ID was a form of “gerrymandering” to benefit the Conservatives – the Brent headteacher made the point that “there are kids right now, in some schools, with tails pinned to their heads and bottoms.. They identify as cats, you see.”

Birbalsingh told the Tory right’s gathering that it was important that schools “embrace small-c conservative values”, before going on to claim “the woke agenda” is as prevalent in state as in private schools. She accused both sectors of “peddling extreme leftist views”. Birbalsingh has since claimed on Twitter that the NatCon conference was non-party political.

Taking to X, the head teacher of the Michaela Community School in Wembley, said:

“They also deny furries exist in the UK. Meanwhile, loads of teachers have them in their classrooms. Snow leopards and pasta too. Yes, that’s a child identifying as pasta. I haven’t made that up. Just like I didn’t make up the existence of furries. I don’t make stuff up.”

I was once overseeing a lunchtime detention in a computer lab that was also a walkthrough to a couple of classrooms. This 14 year old boy, who is supposed to be sitting there in silence completing work or a detention task, catcalled a couple of girls from the year above as they walked through and couldn't understand why I gave him a bollocking for it. His justification was that his dad does it all the time.

Overheard one kid in class boasting to a classmate about not allowing a gas man into the house because he was a "darkie and we don't let fuckin' darkies in". Where do you think he gets that from?

A kid skipped lunchtime detention, so instantly got upgraded to after school. Skipped that too, so a phonecall to the parents who said they told him to skip it. They don't believe we have the right to keep kids after school, even though punishments and sanctions are part of the code of conduct all parents have to sign before their child took up their place at the scool...

One of the lunch ladies had a a right scrote of a son who was constantly getting into trouble for one thing or another and she was constantly griping at teachers about it. Eventually she got fired for storming into a lesson to confront a teacher who'd provided the evidence in an incident severe enough for a suspension.

Most memorable of all was a boy who got a roasting at a parents' evening from pretty much all his teachers, not because he was particularly poorly behaved, but he just refused to do any work, who came in the next day and smugly thanked a teacher for being so negative. Apparently it prompted his parents to buy him a new Xbox game as a pick me up.

And so on and so forth. It was so bloody draining to deal with. Sod beating the kids, it's the parents who need sorting out.

Birbalsingh is someone who, like her fan Jordan Peterson (who says she's more right wing and more conservative than him, btw), will say absolutely anything that sounds clever but doesn't hold up to scrutiny whatsoever. She peddles in the same shock-jock bigotry that appeals to a very small section of society. She's cut from the same cloth as Braverman and Badenoch, and the country has just rejected those sorts of grim charlatans who are willing to do anything and say anything if it gets them where they want to be in life. I have no idea if she's a true believer like Murray, or is just doing it for the attention and the rewards, but in my opinion there is no reason to care. Performativie bigotry is still bigotry. Whether she and other Spiked and Spectator lunatic opinionistas actually believe the shit they're peddling is deeply second to the fact that they say stupid, horrific, divisive crap for their own personal benefit on a regular basis.

These culture warriors are not your friends. They do not have anything useful to say about modern society. They are in fact not providing any sane answers or reasonable viewpoints. There seems to be a flailing around in desperation, trying to find some kind of intellectual basis to what is at its core is a regressive, divisive, insular view point. Peterson and Murray are certainly cut of that cloth, Bilbalsingh is new to me but seems to be following the same path.
Peterson in particular uses what appears to be deliberately opaque language to mask a stupid point, it's like QAnon for people who fancy themselves as intellectuals, but he does seem to impress some folk.

I had a look at the school Birbalsingh set up, I can only imagine the reception in the press that school would have had if it had been put in place by someone associated with the Labour Party - the strict uniforms, the shuffling along the corridors in silent single file, the ostracising of someone who didn't bring in their dinner money, the enforced praising of the school, each other and the staff, I can see screeching headlines of "Maoist Indoctrination Schools"
