Actually, more to the point, given what is going down in South Africa, how will the European based South Africans feel about travelling back to South Africa to play. On their past record, using South Africans own rationales, it simply will not happen.

Will the South Africans demand to receive their share of TV rights from the Pro 18, even if they don't participate because they are too scared of COVID-19? Because that's what the SARU did this year with the Rugby Championship, and every South African poster on this forum aside from Sards thought it was both justified and funny. Celtic posters, how do you feel about giving up a huge chunk of your TV revenue for teams that stay home?Ted. wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 9:07 pm If the South Africans would not travel to Australia this year, how are they going to pluck up the courage to travel to Europe several times when the pandemic is worse than ever in South Africa and the GB and Ireland destinations?

Why is he an idiot? The SARU have proudly established their criteria for playing Rugby. This criteria presumably stands for any future Rugby tournaments? 500 minutes of high quality Rugby prior to any tournament commencing to prepare their players, and zero risk of contracting COVID-19 for their players and staff. This standard has now been clearly established as a precedent, and I look forward to the Pro 18 meeting these guidelines now and into the future.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 11:19 pmIdiotTed. wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 9:07 pm If the South Africans would not travel to Australia this year, how are they going to pluck up the courage to travel to Europe several times when the pandemic is worse than ever in South Africa and the GB and Ireland destinations?

As a SH Rugby fan I have had to put up with smart arse NH trolls deliberately mi-stating the number of teams in Super Rugby for years and years. Now that you guys have the oversized, bloated tournament, and will presumably be expanding every year or two with new franchises being added depending on how the SARU feel, I look forward to returning the favourfishfoodie wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 1:51 am There'll be 16 teams; & deliberately mis-stating the number makes you look like an arsehole....

Why would we go North? Rugby is a summer sport in NZ & Australia. Besides, I hate 3am kick-offs, that's why I hated South African involvement in SR.
As an aside, are you demanding your own referees like you did with us? I look forward to seeing how the Celtic fans react to 20-1 penalty counts when their teams visit South Africa.

Japan? That'll be funny, half the players up there are old Saffers so AC will ever be rid of us!

I'm a pretty great guy, but I'm not sure I can convince our government and SARU that we should allow international rugby in the middle of our second wave.Ted. wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 10:52 amNo, your rugby and your attitude. Sure is. They had their fame and just can't handled being nr 3.
Good lad Dan. Not like that League-loving whinger AC.Dan54 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 6:55 pm Ok, I will say I will miss the SA teams in Super rugby. I understand why it has all come to pass, but I know I just an old bastard, but SA vs NZ rugby at any form is still my favourite.
I don't care if I have to get up early or late whatever the case maybe, I do it when ABs are playing Wales etc (and would never knowingly miss a Welsh test either) and would get up when Canes played in SA and recorded other matches.

Yeah.Fangle wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 7:17 pm To my mind AC has a very nasty streak, despite being an excellent analyst of AB’s rugby.
Years ago he used to start threads with the subject of “Let’s laugh at X’, the losing team. And also he admitted that he gets some sort of sexual pleasure in winding people up. And too often we rise to his blatant bait.
That's so weird. Probably his Aussie RL background. It's worse then soccer supporters.Fangle wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 7:17 pm To my mind AC has a very nasty streak, despite being an excellent analyst of AB’s rugby.
