Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread
Hector Patterson is very over rated.
I know very little about him, what makes you say that?
He was the name given, iirc, from Everitt when it was confirmed that Price was leaving and it was suggested that Edinburgh would be looking "in-house" for a replacement.
Perhaps at Edinburgh ...

Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread
Oh and one more thing, a quirk of the scoring system, I guess, but last season we won 11 games, earned a total of 5 BPs to give 49 league points and 11th place on the table.
This season we've won 8 games, 1 draw, 15 BPs for a total of 49 points and 7th place on the table.
Can this be counted ...

Exeter do look to have pulled themselves together a bit, but Quins definitely look like they could be taking the match more seriously.
I didn't do it for Courtney Lawes last season either. What's your point?

From a Scots POV I think it depends how the injury recoveries go and how Toulouse get on in play offs. Later Kinghorn gets out on tour the harder it'll be.
So long as Tuipulotu is hits the ground running he'll be fresh as a daisy and will be pretty strong.

Daly, Hansen, M Smith are rubbish picks

From a parochial point of view, sad for Gilchrist, Ritchie and Darcy

Lock
- One of the only clear areas of strength for England. Don't think anyone can really argue with Itoje and Chessum, with Martin also being a strong option . McCarthy's prone to dumb penalties from what little I've seen of him, but he's more than handy. Beirne was down as a lock for Ireland ...

Why do we seem to get so little from the officials? Yesterday, vs England, France last year etc.
Obviously a very parochial view, but can’t think of other teams getting similar. Captain not doing his job? Toonie too nice? Cognative bias? It’s the same for everyone?

Really can't fault anyone there, just don't have the depth of forwards to compete with France. I reckon most of our backs played their way onto the plane to Australia.

Well done France, easily the best team in the tournament.
Fine with our effort - I’d far rather watch us go down giving it a lash and trying to play some exciting rugby than being boring and playing to whatever plan the spreadsheet says.
