Re: The Official English Rugby Thread
So the Prem is trialling away ends. Seriously? As a Bath resident am I supposed to start worrying about the Harlequins Ultras coming in a couple of weeks?

Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread
And BTW, the play of the entire weekend was the drop goal by Matthew Urwin in the last minute of the U20s game. 1000 IQ points.
If you haven’t seen the game, watch it. Really great game and some excellent performances by the young ‘uns.

Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread
Why do we seem to get so little from the officials? Yesterday, vs England, France last year etc.
Obviously a very parochial view, but can’t think of other teams getting similar. Captain not doing his job? Toonie too nice? Cognative bias? It’s the same for everyone?

Re: 2025 6N thread
So two years running it is a trip to Twickenham that prevents a grand slam - that feels alright The GS should be very difficult, it's a huge prize. That Twickenham was the hurdle this year is fair enough. Personally I'm still bristling over the loss in the Calcutta Cup, the phrase, "spawny bas...

Re: Lions Squad - Who's In?
He's only in the conversation because behind Russell there's no obvious candidate. Ford was magnificent when he came on, but he's not managed to play all that much in the last 18 months. and even if he stays fit from now until the Lions tour Sale aren't going to provide many top end games for him t...

Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread
Really can't fault anyone there, just don't have the depth of forwards to compete with France. I reckon most of our backs played their way onto the plane to Australia. Schoeman might have done himself a lot of good there too. Yep, great gave. Him, Fagerson and Ritchie have a decent chance. Ritchie ...

Re: 2025 6N thread
Well done France, easily the best team in the tournament.
Fine with our effort - I’d far rather watch us go down giving it a lash and trying to play some exciting rugby than being boring and playing to whatever plan the spreadsheet says.
Tom Jordan take a bow.

Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread
Magnificent performance. Douglas and OBL outstanding, Cowan’s passing was fantastic, great management from Urwin. If we’d played like that throughout we wouldn’t be bottom. They just need to learn to chop tackle… Yeah. We slipped off a lot of tackles that gave away a few soft tries. Other than that...

Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread
I think the last couple of posts are pretty objective and fair. If we were able to field our first choice, fully fit and on form side, I think Scotland could do rather more and better, especially if the current forward-dominated approach to subsitutes were to end somehow. Yet things like injuries a...

Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread
I’m quietly confident about the next cohort of 25 and unders coming up to replace the guys playing now, some like Ollie Blyth Lafferty and Freddy Douglas are still under 20. The only one I’m really concerned about is Finn, I haven’t seen Fergus Burke play but from the others Hastings is the best we...

Watched the game on the sofa with a cup of tea - we can disagree on how you shipped 20 unanswered points against *that* Wales team and I have not sought to argue about it. Re: 2025 6N thread
So far; France are really bloody good with silly depth at 9. Ireland are dirty bastards and not that good when reffed properly. Scotland have some great talent but are badly coached, thick as a bear’s turd, and desperately need leaders. Wales aren’t as shit as they were a few weeks ago and have grow...

Holy shitballs, Borthwick has actually dropped Slade (or maybe he's injured, I don't care) and Dingwall starts. On a less positive note, Daly starts at 15, because that always worked out  England: Daly; Freeman, Lawrence, Dingwall, Sleightholme; F Smith, Mitchell; Genge, George, Stuart, Itoje...

Re: President Trump and US politics catchall
The adults in Ukraine need to push Zelenskyy aside and then hold elections. Then work with Trump to try and save their country My view it's too late. Ukraine will be divided up. This is the price paid for electing a lying comedian. Zelensky should now find a safe country and enjoy his millions or b...
