I was in NC a few years back on holiday, awesome place and great people providing you talk beaches, food, drink and the like, don't even think unless you know it's safe to venture into politics, religion/science, guns, the environment.
Whenever someone talks about politics when I'm in the US, and I'm being expected to say something, I tend to take the line of 'from an overseas view, what's astonishing is just how polarised your politics is. It's odd that there's only politicians at the extremes and no one represents the people on the ground who are more usually a bit more in the middle'. Everyone, everywhere thinks they're in the middle, so it generally goes down ok with people from whatever part of the political spectrum.

Unless you meet a true loony. Met a genuine honest to goodness flat earther once. Turned out to be an antisemite. What a surprise that was.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

No doubt used the old testament as proof the world was flat though  .

Oh dear, how sad .....
Trump is liable in the second E. Jean Carroll defamation case, judge rules; January trial will determine damages

A federal judge ruled that the jury hearing E. Jean Carroll’s defamation lawsuit will only need to decide how much money Donald Trump will have to pay her, after the judge found the former president was liable for making defamatory statements.

The finding is a significant blow to Trump, who is facing numerous criminal indictments and civil lawsuits – many of them coming to a head as he embarks on a presidential campaign.

......

In May after a two-week trial, a jury found Trump sexually abused Carroll and defamed her when he said in 2022 that he didn’t rape her, didn’t know her, and that she wasn’t his “type.”

In that case, the jury awarded Carroll $5 million in damages.
https://edition.cnn.com/2023/09/06/poli ... index.html

I hope the jury apply a significant multiplier to the previous damages, because we all know the only thing he cares about is money.

And because he been using money he's fundraised for personal expenses, Smith is probably going to charge him with campaign finance violations which could lose him access to all that money !

In other good news, cheese & krackers are going to have their speedy trials together in Georgia, which, for Chesebro, is like going swimming while having a block of concrete connected to your meat & two veg with piano wire. This of course highly, highly motivates him to take a plea, & start doing some cooperating.

There's also word from Florida, that a number of the Documents witnesses have now dumped their lawyers paid for by the Traitor, so they may now also be cooperating, rather than face prison for perjuring themselves.

Peter Navarro, the latest mouth breather to get found guilty, where he can now join the Jan 6th morons in the pleasant surroundings of the DC prison system.

On general principals his lawyers should be disbarred for advancing such an imcompetant defense of their client !

Despite the fact that their client has now been found guilty of ignoring a subpoena from a congressional Jan 6th investigation, they & their cretin client, advanced an, "Executive Privilege" defense, which was just a tiny bit compromised that the fact that the Traitor wasn't the Executive anymore, & the person who was, cooperated fully with the investigation; probably because he didn't try & organise a coup.

What the orange shitgibbon spouts, and his dumb as fuck cult followers scream about..
Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

The Biden Administration wants to now make our Army Tanks all Electric so that, despite the fact that they will not be able to go very far, fewer pollutants will be released into the air

Followed by the truth..
The Army wants to field a fully electric tactical vehicle by 2050, and to develop the charging capability to meet those vehicles’ needs by the same date, according to its 2022 climate plan. By 2035, it plans to field a hybrid tactical vehicle and run a fully electric non-tactical fleet.

Given the plumes of thick black smoke from the tank exhausts you see on some of the videos, going electric might be a bit more “stealth” also?

Meadows attempt to move his Georgia case to Federal court rejected, & given that he had the strongest case, that pretty much makes anyone elses attempts moot, but it also removes his biggest opportunity to evade justice & thus makes him making a deal much. much more likely.

It's hilarious that they have trudged up this hill. I presume someone is taking the piss out of them
Someone's suggested introducing gun control legislation under the name "Hunter's Law".

You mean the god fearing, family values first, Christian who thinks that Christianity should come before the constitution?

After having her plastic tits fondled, whilst having a good old grope of cock, vaping in front of pregnant women, whilst still legally married and a grandmother by a 17 yr old son and a girl who was of legal age..(that's 14).. Congresswoman..

Hearing her man friend's bar loves the gays and has had Drag and Trans nights. No outrage over that as well as their behaviour?

But the Reps continually cry over the most nothing shit, either real or made up.

Our version in Canada continually bring up Trudeau doing blackface at a costume party in 2001 and as a student for stage production, which he apologized for. ... not good enough for the right wing nuts who call him a traitor and the worst PM in history.

Endorsing Congressman Jim Banks for the U.S. Senate from the Great State of Indiana was a very easy thing for me to do. I was happy to see that, after the Endorsement, some talented and professional people, but not talented and professional in a league with Jim, all drooped out of the race. Jim has no choice but to be GREAT because Indiana’s other Senator, Todd Young, has been weak & ineffective! Jim will be replacing a very good and talented Senator, Mike Braun, who is running for Governor

Oh, that'd be hilarious, just for how the Trump cult would react! He'll probably hook up with a Hollywood celeb to beat ol' dad's track record, but I'd love to know if he offers Melania a decent proposal.

This'd be a beautiful piece geopolitics if they can make it happen !
WASHINGTON, Sept 23 (Reuters) - The Biden administration is in talks with Vietnam over an agreement for the largest arms transfer in history between the ex-Cold War adversaries, according to two people familiar with a deal that could irk China and sideline Russia.

A package, which could come together within the next year, could consummate the newly upgraded partnership between Washington and Hanoi with the sale of a fleet of American F-16 fighter jets as the Southeast Asian nation faces tensions with Beijing in the disputed South China Sea, one of the people said.

The Vietnamese loath the Chinese, & have schooled the PLA on occasion, so having them inside the same camp as the rest of the Pacific nations determined to block Chinas expansion plans would be a big win.

Biden signed a significant business strategic partnership with Vietnam earlier this month. His administration really has done more than any other in effectively pushing back on China. Besides the semiconductor win and factory ramp-up in the US, Mexico is now officially the US's largest trade partner.

Make or Break night this Wednesday for Meatball Ron !

If he doesn't absolutely monster the debate, he might as well fold up his tents & fuck off back to that shithole that is Florida; he's now polling behind Chris Christie FFS !

As everyone said when it became obvious he had ambitions; to know Ron, is to loath Ron !, & damn but he is a loathsome piece of shit, & his campaign has had a trajectory like the Titanic after it hit the iceberg.
