Why would TNZ give up home advantage? They have the infrastructure and knowledge of the gulf, and it would surely save a lot of money to stay in AKL. Even if the pom sponsor paid for everything. Any other potential challengers would also be highly pissed off.

With only 2 teams, or even 3 when the Septics come back, the whole event is a farce. Pricing the competition out of reach doesn't make for a good event. If there were 5 or 6 teams it would be much better.

And most races so far have either been mismatches or non events.

A new battery powered 16" chainsaw. Eats wood. No petrol, oil to mess around with. Extremely quiet. Have a 4 amp and 2 amp battery, so can carry on while one is on the charger, which takes about an hour to charge the batteries...time for a lazy cuppa, lunch or just to clean up what I've already cut ...
