Re: 2020 Mitre 10 Cup Thread

When you consider it was basically top against bottom team in the division, it was one hell of a game.
Can't think of many other competitions where that level of competition exists.

In place of Clarke, I shouldn't think so.

I don’t get why some people don’t like playing another team 4 times, it reminds me of the old days when there were tours, I long for those days. I would friggen love 4 test in a row against the Boks or England to sort out who’s actually the better team. What’s wrong with you people? Whinging ...

Re: Champions Cup Final

I don't need to re-watch anything, I already called that turnover out as a bad call.

A couple of Nige's calls directly lead to scoring field position for Racing and he didn't yellow card a Racing deliberate knock on far more blatant than Francis' one in the first half, so, yeah, he's ...

Re: Champions Cup Final

Exeter are just relentless when they get a sniff of the line.

Good game so far. Exeter not protecting the ball quite as well as normal and their lineout has malfunctioned. Racing making some good ground in midfield with their powerful runners. Penalty county is very heavily against Racing - they ...

Re: Bledisloe II: All Blacks vs Wallabies: MATCH THREAD: Sunday 18th Oct

I'm going to go with the giving Reiko another chance camp.

He knows he ****ed up but he was looking pretty dangerous on attack during the game and the guy is seriously quick, the way RM and him left the Ozzie backline flailing for his non try was pretty impressive.
Is he the finished article ...

I think back to Mitch Hunt absolutely skinning Jordie Barrett for pace down the sideline during Super Rugby Aotearoa and I worry about JB starting a test match on the wing. Dave Rennie won't have missed his lack of pace, especially off the mark.

The XXIII I think that Ian Foster will select;

15. Beauden Barrett
14. Jordie Barrett
13. Rieko Ioane
12. Jack Goodhue
11. Caleb Clarke
10. Richie Mo'unga
9. Aaron Smith

8. Ardie Savea
7. Sam Cane
6. Shannon Frizell
5. Sam Whitelock
4. Patrick tuipulotu
3. Ofa Tu'ungfasi
2. Codie Taylor
1. Joe ...

Good to see Rayasi in action, no doubt the guy is a talent but not sure I always like him. Seems to have a bit of the Reiko attitude about him at times.

I wonder if he will stay out on the wing, could be a bit of a SBW about him.

Never my favorite player (while you always want a dependable player at the back, I think you also want a bit more than just dependability) there is no arguing that he has a pretty impressive record. 15 years for the same team is pretty special these days.

It usually takes a few weeks for a season to get going normally, no surprise that we're seeing that again, especially when you add in all the squad rotation effects too.

Still get some crackers though, have to say I'm pleased Wasps have been a part of several of them.

Most teams have a number ...

Re: The Official English Rugby Thread

Just watched the Quins Bath game from yesterday

For a game that had around 70 points scored it was really average. It almost felt like it was rugby by numbers at times.
Took a replacement 9 to inject any real pace into the Quins play and Bath going down to 13 seemed to cause Quins to become ...

That Jordan is some talent.

Pretty quiet for much of the game but has that special knack of being in the right place and doing the right thing at the right time.

Took a while to get going but a very enjoyable game to watch.
