Not really upset SA is out.
The one sided reffing (20-1 penalty count???) and your team disappearing for 3 weeks in the middle of the tournament hurt it.
I loved super rugby AU, and hopefully super rugby will be great fun too.

  Plus it will be so bloody hot, everyone is getting pished until they can watch the evening games when it is cooler. It's 35C in Melbourne today - tonight won't be much cooler. I worked one Aussie Day weekend down there one year and it was 31C at Midnight  With thunderstorms coming...

Re: The future for EV cars?..
Im thinking my next car will be electric, however, Im not convinced a system of replacing batteries at battery replacement stations is viable. The issue is that battery charge declines with age. How does that get managed with the replacement station - I wouldnt want my 1 year old battery replaced wi...

The economist measures excess deaths in the UK as being in line with the official Covid figure.
That’s really important because as Petej says, people can live with comorbidities.
I have a comorbidity (low level high blood pressure) but I plan to live to 90.

This whole IVF stuff is annoying me. Of course it’s elective. It sucks these people can’t get it but there are more important surgeries we need to make sure happen. My sister just mentioned WA now has Omicron over there. Given how infectious that is, can see them keeping a lid on it now. Might as well open up If it really has started spreading, they should. Not sure it’s there yet though. Sounds like it’s there. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-16/wa-covid-...

We've been giving up our rwc semi-final spots as well and get nothing but abuse and mockery for it. Re: Things that annoy you
This problem has been addressed by many companies in the US by implementing Paid Time Off (PTO), this is the sum of your vacation allocation and the historically number of annual sick days averaged for the whole company, for example, 20 vacation days + 6 sick days = 26 days PTO. You then use PTO fo...

We will bounce and the next quarter will be on one of the strongest quarters of growth ever. That’s assuming Vic opens up of course. That’s because the barrier that is causing the issue will be relaxed. It’s not a liquidity issue people are just prevented from spending money. But it won’t be as str...

This is nowhere near depression levels yet. It’s a recession and we will come out soon enough. It hurts but it’s not as bad as we had first thought. GDP declined somewhere like 40% in the Great Depression and was sustained over several years. Most economies will bounce (but not as high as they drop...

You need to be a little careful picking a single days results and projecting it. The 7 day moving average for the 31/8 was 96, whereas the 7 day moving average for 14 days before was 265. That is a drop of 270%. Do that again and we are at 35 cases, and this data is 2 weeks old anyway due to delays...

Those harsh lockdowns look like they will be extended beyond 13th September. Nearly 5 weeks in and still having daily increases over 100 cases is mind boggling. Well, the UK is opening up now while case numbers are still high.
The UK also massively dragged their feet in closing down initially.
Now the UK is pursuing a trace and suppress strategy. We are going for elimination, similar to the kiwis.

Eradication is nonsense if that is the end game. I tend to think arguing that we follow a country with 42k deaths is bad advice. There are 42k official deaths but somewhere like 55k excess deaths. Sure there are additional heart attack deaths for people who couldn’t get to the hospital. But equally there are less flu deaths etc. 55k at a death rat...
